  1. I also have not taken bp meds since the day before surgery. I am usually just under 120/80 without meds now.
  2. If you're able to come to Michigan, my surgeon has performed over 4000 surgeries (bypass, lap band, duodenal switch and sleeve combined). He does amazing work and is known as Dr. Wonderful. :-)
  3. I have never been thin. I was chunky through grade school and in the high 100's when I graduated high school. That's the last time I remember Onederland. Getting to "overweight" from "morbidly obese" will be a thrill, let alone getting to "normal"! I'm just over 2 months out, down to 257 from 305 (including 2 week pre-op diet). I can't wait to see what the rest if this year brings!!
  4. Good luck with everything.
  5. Great job!! I was sleeved in April and plan to do a Warrior Dash next summer. You will be my inspiration!
  6. I have Cigna and was approved in a week. 40+ BMI and high blood pressure, 3 mos of PCP appts, one nutritionist phone interview, psych eval, and history of morbid obesity documented through old records. Fortunately, easy peasy for me. Good luck!!!
  7. I just checked the website. It's July 13 and there are 8:30 spots available. I can't do Saturday mornings, so I'm out. Good luck and knock 'em dead to anyone who ends up participating!!
  8. What is the date of the Color Run in Lansing? I'm in Ann Arbor and missed the one in Ypsilanti.
  9. Yay! Let me know how much for shipping and your email address for PayPal if you use PayPal. You may email me at the above email address or message me on here. :-)
  10. Lol...it's all good. It is a frustrating point for many. :-)
  11. Actually sterilization or long term birth control is my choice. His intense fear of a vasectomy is something we discussed and I accepted long before we got married. I'm sorry it frustrates you, but every situation is different and it doesn't make my husband an a*****e.
  12. I had a consultation with my OB today and Essure done as an outpatient would be best if I lose more weight, but at my current weight would be surgery instead of vaginally. Going with Mirena for now. And hubs won't snip snip. :-(
  13. Has anyone gotten sterilized after surgery? I'm over 40 and my husband and I do not want any more little ones. We discussed IUDs but have decided on sterilization. I'm torn between tubal ligation and Essure. Has anyone had tubal implants? Any info is appreciated.
  14. ...or smaller for a couple of months down the road. Can pay shipping. Will donate or pay forward when finished with them. Please email me at marissahammond@hotmail.com. Happy Sleeving!!
  15. I went back to my desk job one week post op. I had a very easy recovery fortunately, but everyone is different.
  16. If they're 22 or smaller, I'll take them. :-)
  17. There is one in Ypsilanti the third Saturday of every month. I haven't been able to attend but hope to. Where in Michigan are you?
  18. 2oz mashed cottage cheese last night. I was thrilled to feel restriction!!
  19. Of course it depends in what you do for a living, but I went back to my desk job one week later and felt like I never left. Even walked a few laps around the building throughout the day to get moving. Again, depends on what you do.
  20. For me, it was like I'd done 5,000 sit-ups the day before. The pain when I woke up in recovery was pretty intense. I was in and out of it for a few hours. By the time I was coherent that afternoon, the pain was much more manageable and really didn't go over pain level 2 on a 10 scale. I'm 9 days post op and feel about 95% now. I've been very lucky.
  21. How is everything going for you?
