Yes, when I try to eat Jello I get a very uncomfortable sensation, like I'm super full and gasey...then my stomach gurgles a bit and it passes...but it's not fun.. I'm four days out and have successfully eaten 1/2 a single sf popsicle stick, and one 16.9 fl oz of propel zero which it took all day to get down... I tried the jello but could only take a 3 thumb nail size bites over 15 minutes with the sensations I mentioned earlier... Does this sound like what your experiencing?- June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Hey Corey I'm stuck here too, waiting on drain removal..I asked my nurse for little 1 oz shot glasses to put my propel in.... I drink one every 15 mins to show them I could do the liquid.. it helped me visualize it....maybe try that?- June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Oh no none mentioned anything about how to sit when I drink...I'm kinda half inclined here and because I don't want to push the sleeve too much have been taking tiny tiny sips....but if I do try the jello I'll make sure to sit up properly, good advice!- Did you keep your surgery a secret?
You absolutely won't have too go it alone...this site is super helpful good luck to you- June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Oh that sounds so good...I'm sitting here in the hospital still, not Hungary, but a little scared to even try to eat the Jello they gave me...was anyone else nervous to try out the sleeve?- June surgery dates
Hi all wanted to check in, I was sleeved yesterday--surgery went well and Dr. Lee my PA said I have beautiful anatomy, I bet he says that to all his sleeve patients!! Lol Anyway my reaction to the anesthesia was tough!! I was very out of it in the recovery room shaky lots of aches and pains...some dry heaving, yucky spittle and a low grade headache, also nausea that lasted into this morning.. basically just laid here in and out of a light sleep...the nausea subsided once they took me off of the injectable pain meds and the anti nausea medication did help, so it came in waves instead of being constant... Overall I'm doing well....I can say that now bc they gave me some lortab orally, which I'm told is liquid vicadin about 10 mins ago..and right now nothing really hurts except where the drain is...also they took out the catheter and I've been able to tinkle on my own, and have some ice chips and propel Catering has been by twice, so my broth and Jello which I haven't touched yet is starting to pile up (that never would have happened before!!)...I'm not hungry at all... I'm so happy there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, I know there's a long road to go, but I'm still happy with my decision and just wanted to thank all of you for your support up to this point... reading everyone's preop and post op experiences had really prepared me for my own... THANK YOU!!- 6/26/13 Sleevers, Today's Our Day!
Lol..if only I had known how I would react to the anesthesia, maybe I wouldn't have been so excited lol.. But it's the day after the surgery and I was able to have some ice chips, and a little propel... so things are looking up:) Hope others had good experiences too- Sleeve day! Im getting ready to leave
Good luck today, smooth recovery!- Sleeve day! Im getting ready to leave

I'm down for both..a private fb page (i'm not announcing my vsg to everyone) just send me the link when it's created..and I'll pm you my email... how are you doing on the preop diet? Have you notice the differences btwn how your body tells you when your actually hungry, just having a craving or having head hunger from boredom or habit? I've noticed my cravings are almost totally gone!! ... But if I get a hunger pang, boy their better be a Protein shake right there or I might collapse!!- June surgery dates
Every day you fight temptation by following your preop plan, your helping yourself to a smoother more successful recovery ( that's what I'm telling myself as my tummy growls at me angrily right now anyway) Good Luck Tues- June surgery dates
Good to know, my surgeon didn't tell me that, but maybe I'll just have those without the protein added for the next few days then. Thank you!- 6 months post op ** NEW PICS**
