So I have been on the pre op diet for 6 days and only #2'd once and it was a small amount. Should I take a laxative? Is this normal?

I am on my 6th day of the preop diet and have lost about 11lbs. I'm on straight liquid protien shakes.

Just got my approved call too! It is so exciting! Congrats!

And I just got my approval! I'm so excited to start a new chapter!

Thanks everyone! Called insurance again and they said it is still in medical review. It would be easier if I had a definite answer! Keeping my fingers crossed! Should know tomorrow!

Today is day one of my preop diet for my 5/22 surgery (which hasn't been approved yet). I am starving and I am so upset because this could possibly be for no reason! Ugh!

I am in the same boat. Submitted last Wednesday. I called insurance to make sure they have it and they said yes and I would know within 5 days!

Approval. My date has been set for awhile now May 22nd. I am starting my preop diet tomorrow. My doc seems confident I will get an approval but I won't believe it till I hear it from insurance!

After all of the doctors appts., tests, classes, etc. this is by far the hardest step so far! Just watching my phone like a crazy lady!

Any recommendations? I am thinking I want to start out with liquid not chewable but any advice would be great!

After your paperwork was submitted, how long did you wait. My doc is submitting today!

Today I will finish my last NUT appointment and my coordinator will submit to insurance! My nerves are insane! I actually have butterflies in my stomach! Surgery scheduled for 5/22 hopefully we have an answer (an yes) by then!

I have a 5/23 surgery date but they won't submit to insurance until my last nut appointment Wednesday. I am feeling so emotional and stressed. Not sure if it is the thought of getting denied, the worry of the surgery itself, my crazy kids, my friend (aunt flo) visiting this week or what but I am freaking out! Anyone else deal with this?

I am not saying that surgery will give me cancer just that if something happens I will have no stomach left! I also worry a lot about long term things. I try not to think about it!
