  1. I use to have large quantities of chocolate weekly. I have only craved it twice in the last 8 months since my band. Loving it!!
  2. Thanks Kelly! I'll look for it. I'm not generally a water drinker but I have been trying to be really good!
  3. I read through all of her posts & I am hurting for her. It makes me realize just how good I have it. Even if I hadn't gotten the band I would still be counting my blessings. I've prayed & will continue to pray for her & her family.
  4. OMG!! I was so thirsty when I went to town today & I grabbed a bottle of water & when I turned it up my eyes about bulged out of my head! It was soooooo.........good!!! :lick :lick
  5. I went on the medi fast many many many years ago. I drank the chocolate 3 times a day for 3 months & lost 70lbs. It tasted okay. It was harder than Hades to mix up though. But like I said that was a long time ago. Surely they have improved it.
  6. Is it like joint or muscle pain? I think I would go to my family doc & ask about x-rays & possible MRI.
  7. WTG Penni! I'm proud for you! Congrats!!
  8. About 5 or 6 years ago I went for a job interview in this huge VA hospital. After the interview I had to use the restroom. I left the RR & proceeded to walk down a long hall passing many people & getting on an elevator. In the elevator with me was a very nice gentleman who asked me how I was doing & so on & so forth all the while with a huge smile on his face. I got off the elevator thinking wow what a great place to work. Everyone is so friendly. While walking through the huge, crowded lobby a very nice nurse walked up & said, "Your skirt is tucked into your shorts." ........I took it as a bad omen & turned down the job. Thank God I always wore shorts under my skirts & dresses! To this day when I go on an interview this memory makes me laugh!!!
  9. WTG Sarah! Those are some really great NSVs!
  10. I think I enjoy it more. It's just that I enjoy different things. I don't crave the junk anymore.
  11. I was avoiding this post because I couldn't think of anything that I missed either!
  12. I went throught the same thing that you are going through right now. I think I started out thinking that I could eat anything I wanted because I had just had WLS. That & I had the OMG......When I do get real restriction I won't be able to eat this & this & this. Just remember that the band is a tool to help you lose the weight. It's not gonna lose it for you. That sounds kinda harsh. Sorry. But don't be like me & lose faith in the band & not follow directions. You have lost 30 lbs in a month. I am 8 months out & have just now lost 30 lbs. You are doing great!!!! Take a deep breath! It'll be alright! We are all here for you. Just keep reading all the different posts. That is what seemed to help me get control again. And remember to stay on top of your fills. I just had my third fill Tuesday & I am just now finally getting real restriction & the "full" feeling. And now that I am eating right, I don't even miss all of the junk! I watched my husband eat 3 pieces of bread tonight with supper & all I could do was stare at him thinking, "what are you doing?" LOL!! Like I said....You are doing great! Just hang in there!
  13. :eek Oh my! LOL! Congrats!
  14. I agree with Kathy. CHew, chew, chew & chew some more. And don't let yourself get too hungry before eating. I found that if I was really hungry when I sat down to eat I tended to take bigger bites, I ate faster & then I was in misery! I almost PB'd myself to death my first day on solids. It scared me to death cause at the time I didn't even know what a PB was. Slow, chew, chew, chew, enjoy your food, & remember to not drink while eating!
  15. Oh man! I can't wait to be able to do that myself! Congrats & keep up the good work!
  16. Saying prayers & wishing you nothing but the best from Arkansas!
  17. My surgery went about the same as everyone elses. Except for that I had absolutely no surgical pain. Just gas pain. And that too will pass. LOL!! It's a breeze. OK, I'll stop now. Good luck & let us know how it goes.
  18. I'm so happy for both of you! You are an inspiration! Congrats!
  19. I'm glad you got it fixed! Welcome back!
  20. Bumpety bump bump.... This thread is cool! I am a LPN who has not worked in a year due to a back injury. But.... I start a new job Monday! This will be my first time working in a nursing home. They assure me that the nurses don't do ANY lifting. Yeah right! I guess I'll find out. Wish me luck please.........Jess
  21. Sounds good to me. It was really cool seeing what everyone does.
