  1. We will just ignore him. . How do you get you tracker to show at the bottom like yours?
  2. Wow, bigdaddyjoe. We really are alike! I just looked at your profile and we have the same amount of weight we want to lose, only 2 years apart and Ben the same birthday month. Too funny!
  3. Do you need me to shoot your devil on your shoulder too? Good luck! Are you on your pre op diet now? 1 more week for me. Woo hoo!
  4. I'm March 1st. Way to start a month with a bang! So looking forward to it, but I do have this annoying devil on my shoulder whispering things like is it the right thing to do? What If something happens? You have 3 children counting on u...what if things go wrong? I'm not super big (35 BMI), but obviously I'm big enough if they are allowing me to have surgery. If I don't do it now I know I will keep going up up up and having to get on more meds. I need this tool like nobodies business. I need to get off my sleep apnea machine and lood pressure meds. Will someone please shoot this stupid devil on my shoulder?!
  5. Yes, you CAN do it! Especially because you know that a lot of the problem is you are genuinely hungry. When we are on liquids after, at least our stomachs won't be aching. We might get mentally hungry, but not physically, and THAT we can do! Your surgery is on the 1st or soon after? Looking forward to hearing all a out it.
  6. I hear ya! I've been so desperate I will admit I actually chewed something up and then spit it out and rinsed my mouth. I have to say it helped. Gross, I know!
  7. I have severe GERD going into surgery. Next step is surgery. I've heard people getting reflux after. Has anyone had GERD prior to surgery and its either the same or getting better? I'm pretty worried.
  8. I hear ya! I've been struggling too. And it's so hard to keep with what the doc says when I read so many people not even doing a pre op diet! I rationalize to myself that my BMI is lower (35), so I'm sure I'd be ok eating a little of this or that, but so far I've only caved to 1 cup of cottage cheese for 3 days in a row. I have stopped that now. I shouldn't take chances. Although, the sugar free Popsicles I have adopted myself and I'm ok with that. I know I get 1 "last hurrah" meal the night before surgery, so I can't imagine a sugar free Popsicle or a cup of cottage cheese is too harmful! We can do this!
  9. I'm the day after you. Can't wait and also so anxious! It's going to be worth it, tho. To get off any meds you might be on and to feel healthy will be awesome! I'm also doing it for my kids. They have no idea that mom is having surgery. I just want them those what eating healthy can do. 2 of them are almost teens and starting puberty and its such a crucial time with weight gain at that point. I want to lead by example. I'm so looking forward to the future for al of us. Luckily my children are all trim and healthy, but my poor daughter is beginning to struggle and is giving in to the bad stuff behind my back hopefully watching mom make wise decisions will help her. . Good luck on your journey!
  10. I'm learning so much on this thread! So, a lot of you couldn't sleep on your side post op? I hadn't heard of this and will have to prepare myself for that. What about belly sleeping? Have you been instructed not to? 8 more days for me!
  11. I, too, am using the adult gummi vitamins for now, but I'm unsure if they will be ok to use post op right away. Too much sugar or don't chew up enough? That's something I have to ask. I just went and bought chocolate calcium, but again I'm wondering if they will be ok after surgery. Any thoughts?
  12. Thank you! I LOVE money saving tips! Are they palatable?
  13. My surgery is on March 1. I know I'm not in February, but your thread I really helping me and eye opening and I have enjoyed every one of your posts. Thanks for sharing all your stories. I'm really excited mine is coming up and yet I'm a bit anxious too. I'm sure that's normal. Still trying different protein shakes because Muscle Milk isn't my first choice. Also, I was told to get my vitamins in liquid or under the tongue type. The iron drops are enough to make me lose it. What do you guys use? And what about calcium? My liquid stuff is gross! Help please!
  14. Thought I'd start a thread for those of us being sleeved on the 1st. It would be fun for all of us to check in with each other after our procedures and compare how everyone is doing. It would also be a nice support for prior to the surgery because this pre op diet sucks and is HARD!!!! Speaking of pre op diets. What do your doctors have you doing? I'm confused as to why some people only have to do a 24 hour liquid diet, while some (me included) have to do 2 protein shakes and 1 protein and green meal for 2 weeks and still others have to do 1 month of liquid! I want some cottage cheese. Anyone allowed to have that pre op? I read somewhere its ok. Just wondering. I'm only on day 3 and its hard (did I say that already?).
  15. Yes, My surgeon is Dr. Umbach. My surgery is March 1. So, you will be at a concert on March 11 and I will be at The Bachelor taping and we will we done with the surgery part.
  16. We do? I have 3 friends that have used him and have been happy. My surgery date is March 1. Are you traveling to Vegas to do this? I am from So. cal. So I will be there from Thursday to Monday. We need to keep in touch!
  17. We sound exactly the same! I weighted myself on Friday before I started my pre op diet and I was 136 pounds. I am 5'8" . How tall are you? My ultimate goal is 150, but honestly 170 is fine with me! I'm thin at 170. . Thanks for sharing your timeline. When I get my kiddos in bed I am going to read it. This is really helping me. I love hearing from eveyone. Thank you!
  18. Roxanne, you didn't have a huge amount to lose either? I have 60 to lose to get to a comfortable weight. Not skinny, but good for my height. So, I will still possibly lose a good amount in the beginning? I'm so excitied! I have sleep apnea and high blood pressure and those started about 30 pounds ago, so I'm hoping to be off that stuff pretty quickly, but have heard the less you have to losenthenslower it comes off mso, I'm hoping to be 60 pounds less by Christmas. How much did you lose in the first month?
