  1. Hi everyone, so, most of us on here are sleeved now! Yippee! I'm working to get my protein and water in, whichI can tell its going to be a big challenge. I don't want to overdue it and throw up, so I'm being hypersensitive about it and probably not doing enough. This is going to be a learning curve for sure! Other than that, I'm good. Belly is a little sore, but I can tolerate it with no meds, so that good. My shoulder pain is getting less, so that's good too! Just need to keep walking and drinking. Wishing you all the best!
  2. This is it for most of us on this thread! I am at the hospital just waiting to be taken back. Wishing everyone a speedy and comfortable recovery!
  3. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am tomorrow. AHHHHH! I'm kinda freaking out!!!!
  4. Just arrived at my hotel in Vegas. Going to see the surgeon and nutritionist in 45 minutes. Then I get a last meal! Can't wait! Starting to be nervous, but at the same time it doesn't seem real. On roller coaster of emotions! Good luck to all!!!
  5. Wait. Your surgery is in the morning as in tomorrow morning? Good luck and keep us posted!
  6. It has seems like a dream up until today. I'm really feeling the pressure today. But I am excited too. Mostly nervous about the healing process. Afraid of strictures or leak. Ive lost 10 lbs in the last 10 days. That keeps me going.
  7. I know. Is this really happening for us? Seems like a dream! I leave tomorrow morning for Vegas and meet with the surgeon. Then it's last meal time. According to the nutritionist your liver doesn't have time to expand so quickly, so I get a last meal. Looking forward to that just as much as the surgery!
  8. I'm only 45 minutes from San Diego. You are going to be very happy with the weather! Good luck on everything!
  9. The hospital just called to go over all my paper work. Made it all that much more real! The count down begins!
  10. It's in your profile. I couldnt figure out how to do it on the app. Had to use the actual web site. Once in your profile there will be a list on your left. Click on tickers and then go from there.
  11. I don't have and stomach burns. Not sure what that is all about. 3 MORE DAYS, people!!! It's getting so close. Hard to wrap my head around it.
  12. Glad to hear your leak test went well. I love your updates. You're feeling good?
  13. What does keotis mean? And I hear ya on the terrible breath. When in the world will that get better? It's awful! I just need Friday to get here. I'm starting to freak out a little.
  14. A huge thank you to everyone! You've helped me feel much better and I am, once again, excited for Friday to get here!
  15. So, I'm starting to freak out. I'm reading all of these posts and everyone is talking about taking very small bites. I do know that I will be needing to do this, but will I EVER be able to take a normal size bite during a meal? And I really don't mean a big one. Just normal? Like 1 year down the line? I can't imagine taking less than pea size bites of my chicken for the rest of my life.
  16. good to know. Congrats on your big day! Keep the updates coming. I'm hanging on your every word, as my surgery is Friday. Hang in there.
  17. Welcome! So glad you found us. You are brave to go to another country outside your own. I live only 2 hours from Mexico, but I'm driving 4 hours to Vegas because I am too chicken. it sound like you and someone else on here are going to the same city. Wouldn't it be great to have met someone with your same doctor. I love this site. It connects so many of us and give us support. My 7 year old son just got a high fever today. Cross your fingers for me that I don't get it. I couldn't bare having to postpone my surgery! Most of us will be sleeved in 5 days!
  18. Oh, bigdaddyjoe. I'm so sorry about you poor daughter (and son). I hope they recover quickly Nd you don't get it. Praying for us both!
  19. Oh no! My surgery is Friday (I leave on Thursday) and my 7 year old just woke up with a fever. Please don't let me get sick! I will die is my surgery has to be rescheduled AND have to do my 2 week pre op diet again. Don't get sick, don't get sick. Don't get sick!
  20. Tortilla soup is amazing and easy. Make a salsa of your liking. I do 1 bunch green onions, 1 24 oz can of PEELED whole tomatoes in their own juice (very important to be in their own juice - others are gross), 1 4 oz can jalapeños, 1 4 oz can green chilis, 1 Tbsp garlic powder, 1 Tbsp kosher salt and 1 bunch cilantro. Purée in whatever you have - a blender is sometimes hard, but works. Then you get a whole chicken and do just as instructed above for chicken soup - cover it with water, add chopped onion and any veggies you like. After several hours, remove the chicken from broth. Shred it all up and put back in the broth along with the salsa. You can put the broth in the frig overnight without the salsa mixed in to get the fat to the surface to scrap off first if you want. After all ingredients are mixed, serve to your family and you strain your portion. Don't forget the tortilla strips for your family. Yummy! And then as time goes on you can purée the entire soup as your tummy allows until you can eat the soup just as your family does. Enjoy!
