I didn't get in until Thursday.

I was not instructed to do one either. My surgery is on Friday also.

Shoot, I will just miss you! I'm at Mi Doctor with Dr Kelly on the 22 but I fly home the 25.

I don't know what a ppi is but I live in Mexico and you can buy pretty much everything at the pharmacy without a prescription.

Since we're discussing poo... Lol... Did anyone else notice after a week or so on the liquid pre-op that their urine had a strange smell? Idk if I'm imagining it or what...

I feel your pain. I'm flying 15 hours for a 5 hr flight followed by another 3.5 hour flight and its only costing me $800 one way! /:

I think it's a great idea. I vote for puerto Vallarta since I live there and can show you all the local secret places!

I've read thousands of great referrals on seemingly all the popular surgeons in Mexico so I think you're pretty well in good hands whether you spend 4500 or 6500 there. I was going back and forth between dr Garcia and dr Kelly but when I started reading posts about how some people were referred to dr Kelly when they were higher risk I really felt confident that other surgeons also view him as highly skilled so that is why I chose him. My surgery is on Thursday so I will post back to let you know my true thoughts after!

I hear ya, I'm scared of losing all my booty! I'll be happy to lose half of it but I'll die if I ended up with a flat but, even though I doubt that's possible for me! Lol

Hi Erin! I'm new here as well, you can read my story on my profile... if you have time - it's long winded. lol I actually live in Puerto Vallarta and hear that Dr. Joya is an amazing surgeon. A lady that pretty much everyone in town knows because of her involvement in the health community had her surgery done by him some years ago and she says it was the best choice of her life. I myself am actually going to TJ for surgery this week with Dr Kelly... seems weird that I'd go there with such qualified surgeons in my town but it still works out cheaper for me and I really feel good about Dr Kelly. Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck!

I arrive Thursday and will be spending the night in the hospital so hopefully I will see you there! I'm like you, I can hardly believe it's happening this week! Counting down the days...

Who will be in TJ for surgery this week? I've only been able to find two other people, there has to be more of us?! Only 5 days till surgery for me, I'm excited!

I'm not going alone but the only reason is because I had my gall bladder out in January and I nearly lose my mind out of boredom in those 4 days that I was COMPLETELY by myself. The nurses even only came by two or 3 times per 24 hr period and that was just to empty my drain bulb. Really though, other than boredom which I don't think you will encounter with all the other sleevers there, I'd say its fine to go alone! Best of luck!
