I was sleeved/hiatal hernia repaired on 3/11 as well, and know EXACTLY what you are taking about with the pain! As it was explained to me, the swelling in that area lies right on a nerve that goes up through your diaphram and into your left shoulder. OMG, it was AWFUL!!! The pain WILL subside as the swelling goes down; take it easy and don't overdo it. My pain lasted almost 2 weeks. Everyone is different; but don't panic. It'll go away as you heal! Good luck!!

My doctor's instructions were to change the dressing over the drain site ONCE A DAY (with 2x2 gauze pad and 4x4 tegaderm). It definitely needed changing, as the first few days post-op I continued to ooze. I'm 10 days post-op today and its dry, but I keep changing it daily. Will do so until my 2 week post-op appointment, when I ask my doctor if it still needs to be covered.

I'm on March 11th also! Woohoo! Bring it....

Just started the CPAP last night (diagnosed with mild sleep apnea)...... Hmmmm..... this is going to take some getting used to.... BUT... I will do whatever it takes as suggested by my doctor. Hope I get better sleep tonight. Pre-admin testing first thing tomorrow morning.

You got that right!!!! Waiting IS the hardest part.... Just got approved, waiting to get scheduled...they're looking at early March; excited, scared, on edge, filled with anticipation and trying to set realistic expections .... all at once. Feels like I'm on a rollercoaster..... Best of luck to you on 2/26!

OMG OMG! I got the call... APPROVED! The scheduler is out today, so don't have a date yet... BUT....I got APPROVED! Woohoo!!! So so so so so happy right now!

CONGRATS!!! That is awesome news! ....Still waiting over here for BCBS Ohio (today is business day #10); very impatient, irritable and jumpy everytime my cell rings! Praying...

Hi Khloe! Apparently it's different with all insurance companies... My paperwork was submitted on 1/25, and I haven't heard anything so I called BCBS Ohio today; they stated that they have 15 days to respond to precertifications (business days)... darn it! The waiting is the hardest part! I am, like you, ready to get the ball rolling... keeping in touch with this forum and knowing that I'm not alone is helping out tremendously! Thanks Just1girl. Called BCBS Ohio and my authorization is still pending nurses review. Darn it! They received it on 1/25 and have up to 15 days to review.... I'm guessing that is business days? This waiting is driving me crazy! And in the meantime I'm getting further and further away from following the nutritionists guidance. Our visits were over a month ago!

Getting nervous over here too! Happy I stumbled into this website and thread... so I know I'm not alone! It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow that my doctors office submitted to insurance; wish I'd hear something! It's all I think about! Should I call BCBS Ohio? Should I call the drs office? Wait it out? I don't want to be a pain... but... thinking I'll probably place a call today..

How exciting, JustSleeveIt! I just found this forum yesterday and am so happy to be part of it already! I feel your excitement and you all give me SO MUCH HOPE! Patiently (?) waiting for word back from my surgeon's office; today will be 8 days since my paperwork was submitted to BCBS of Ohio. Praying I hear something soon; it's all I can think about!

Congratulations Nycole! How exciting! I'm praying for a March date! Submitted to insurance on 1/22; still waiting to hear back. Very anxious, nervous, wish I'd hear already....
