  1. Can we cause any harm to our sleeve? Damage? Stretch? I am thinking if trying a cocktail on vacation next month at 10 weeks post op. Thoughts?
  2. I told only my mother, and I am so happy I kept it all private.
  3. Why is that? Same issue here.
  4. Sending you prayers and positive thoughts that you can turn the corner- hang in there!
  5. Yes- just give your body time. 15-20mins usually is enough, on occasion it has made me throw up. It's definitely a learning process. Hang in there- it will pass.
  6. So far ice cream and clam chowder are the only things that have made me sick. I ate the smallest amount of ice cream- it was actually a couple bites if a shamrock shake. Other than that- most things are a-ok! Even tried a hot dog and bun tonight at a basketball game. I am 6 weeks out and down -32lbs.
  7. I have felt amazing (old self) since 2 weeks after. I am no spring chicken at 40 years old too! 6 weeks out and feel better than ever- it's been a great recovery period.
  8. I am 6 weeks out and have a sugar free, skim, decaf latte a couple times a week with no problems.
  9. I am fairly slow too- 32 pounds in 6 weeks. But I am ok with that because I don't want loose ad saggy skin!!
  10. I had that when I ate too much, too fast. It lasted about 3 days- so uncomfortable!
  11. Surgery 1/21 and I have lost 30lbs. Started at 265. Happy to be losing at this rate- hoping it helps with preventing loose and saggy skin.
  12. I had surgery on Monday, released on Thursday evening from hospital and drove on Friday. Never needed to take pain meds.
  13. Good luck to you! The waiting part is hard. I will keep a good thought for you!
  14. I can't eat fruit with skins for 3 months.
  15. Hi- I had a similar experience. Hang in there! It really does get better. I am 3 weeks post op and that is all a distant memory. Good luck!
  16. Hi all! I am three weeks out and I am very curious as to how much folks are eating and sinking each day- and how often during the day.
  17. I am almost 3 weeks out and lift my 40lb nephew no problem.
  18. I am surrounded by amazing people in personal and professional lives- I kept 100% private. Only my mom and surgeon know. I really think it's a personal preference.
  19. I think you should go! You would be feeling fine by then.
  20. Took two weeks. Returned this past Monday, with no problems whatsoever. Could have gone back earlier. I am 40 and have appointments all day.
  21. I was addicted to diet coke. Was told not to drink post surgery. I am 13 days post op and don't miss it at all. I am a little shocked myself.
  22. I was not told no gum. Chewed some on day 5 following surgery. Accidentally swallowed it- panicked! Called my surgeon on the weekend, he said I would be just fine. 8 days later and I was and am perfectly fine.
  23. I was alone too- and did ok. I slept a lot initially. Good plan having everything you'll need. Good luck!
  24. I am feeling fine in general- but yes my major incision still hurts- and exactly as you described- tying shoes, bending over is the worst. My doctor said it was so painful as that is where he removed my stomach. It sure hurts. Sometimes I do something, or move a certain way and the pain is unreal.
