  1. How do you get enough calories in when I am full at 1/2 to half cup of food? I was thinking of eating between my meals or every two hours a few bites. It's so hard to eat all your food then try and get your water in. Especially when you have wait before and after each time you each time you eat!
  2. Okay, so my husband and I took a road trip yesterday. Left pretty early, so I took all my vitamins, and grabbed 1/2 banana. We got to our location about 5 1/2 hours later and my husband was starving as I was too. We were in the middle of nowhere so we picked a litte cafe. There was nothing on the menu I could eat! I ended up ordering a cup of clam chowder, had 3 or 4 bites and ate the 4 saltine crackers. I am only 5 weeks out, but I'm sure this homemade chowder was pretty fattening. I had no protein this day. How you handle eating away from home? Maybe just pack my own food? Will I never be able to eat at a restaurant again?
  3. Yes, my Nut told me to get this one and I love it. It tells you according to what stages you are in, or weeks out. It'd called- Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery. By Patt Levine and Michele .Bontempo-Saray .
  4. There are a lot of people on this forum that have switched to the sleeve. So hopefully someone has had similar problems. It sounds like you are having problems with your band. If so it probably should come out. Getting sleeved st the same time makes sense cause you'll already be under and it will help you get back on track with your weight loss. It's a big decision and only one you can make. There's positive and negative people out there. Go with what you truly want and hopefully everyone will support you. Good luck:)
  5. Glad I'm not the only one to with this problem. Good post:) I bought the frozen tilapia and salmon from Costco, put in toaster oven and its ready in 15 min. Next thing I know husband is asking for bite. Really! My son too has been stealing my protein drinks!
  6. I have stalled too. I am 5 weeks out. I get about 64 grams of protein in, but not quite all my fluids. The scale says I'm up 3#! How can it be, we hardly eat a.nything. And yes coffee and drinks of anykind count.
  7. Just received my bill from Kaiser. $21000.00 and some change. I was lucky and didn't have to pay a dime.
  8. Plus your food is so damn cold by the time you do finish! And its only 2 oz! I have to reheat halfway through:)
  9. I had kidney stones and a uti 7 days post op so I know how ya feel. Meds will kick in and youll start dropping the weight. I didn't get back on scale till I felt better so as to not be disappointed.
  10. Like everyone else said, its not easy those first few weeks. But it does get better. I am 1 month out and I feel wonderful. You will to,just gotta get past that first hump of recovery:-) Good luck and congrats on your surgery.
  11. This is where it gets confusing to New sleevers. Each Dr is so very different. I for instance was on clear liquids in the hospital. Once home at day three, I was put on full liquids. Cr soups yogurt, cottage cheese, applsauce for two weeks. Been on soft foods two weeks now and doing great! I am 1 month out:)
  12. They have no right to ask. Because of Heppa laws. Only if u chose to tell them.
  13. Wow, great job. So young to, wish I would have done this a lot sooner:)
  14. I started vitamins as soon as I got home. Just depends if you can handle th whole or cut up. Mine did make me nauseous for about a week.
  15. I still burp and have pressure occasionally, especially when I take one bite to many, and I'm 4 weeks out. The stomach gurgling is normal, its just air from eating and drinking. Does keep getting better as time goes by.
  16. I have been eating just sugar free frozen yogurt. Is this not good for ya?
  17. And I have lost about 18# in 4 weeks, but I am 195. The heavier u are it seems the more u lose than the people that are around 200 or so. And yes males lose more quicker usually. So try not to compare, or compare to someone around the same weight as u:)
  18. Where do u get goat meat?
  19. These sounded so good, I just went in kitchen and made them. Made them in 10 min. They r now cooking and smell very good. Can't wait to try tomorrow:) Thanks for great recipes! Thank god I love to try new foods!
  20. You would also know very quickly if u had a leak! U will be fine just try and stick to your Drs orders. Each Dr is very different:)
  21. I went about 7 days then I did a dulcolax suppository. Within 15 minutes I had two good ones. After that I found gummy Fiber and I chew two every night. Now I go about every 3 or 4 days:)
  22. I tried a lot of protein drinks before I landed on premier, o won't go to anything else now.. Some people have to use the isolate cause it might be easier on their stomachs. It has 30 grams of protein so I will continue with it I am 4 weeks post op
  23. This morning I was getting ready for work, and I looked down and was bleeding. Three of my incisions have all healed, and the last two which were the bigger ones had hard scabs on them. The bleeding came from underneath the scab and I could see a hole!. Dr said to just put neosporin on it and keep it dry. Anyone else had this happen if so how long will it take to heal?
  24. I too started the evening of surgery day, thought I had peed the bed I was a week early, but the Dr said stress from surgery. It was no big deal They gave me pads and some mess panties from the on dept. They r very used to it so please no one worry about your period in hosp.
  25. I have been eating mostly different kinds of fish with lots of lemons! It's my fav. But it taste so good I too find myself eating to fast, then it feels like it sits on top of the stomach for an hour. Will we retrain ourselves to eventually slow down? I hope it becomes habit soon. I am on my fourth week and can pretty much eatdo everything i have tried so far. I just need to slow it down.
