  1. Anyone know of medicare is paying/covering the sleeve yet in Texas?
  2. Hi! Has anyone ever been to dr gunta in Austin Texas? I'm scheduled to see him in September for my first consultation. Also what questions should I ask or should I say what questions did you ask your drs before you got sleeved? Thank you on advance for all the responses!
  3. Does anyone have regular or classic medicare that was approved and they paid? I was told by my drs office that they still haven't reciever payment for some surgeries they did earlier this year. I have medicare and medaid. And I know there are no Pre approvals. Is a weight nutrition class required? It's not for the lap band and gastric bypass. Thanks in advance. I live in Brownsville Texas.
  4. Brownsville Texas here! Anyone in the rgv get medicare to cover your sleeve?
  5. Do you know if medicare has any requirements about having to go to nutrition classes? If so how long? The lady who files the claims here told me that she couldn't find anything that says you need to but idk.
  6. Medicare will not help you w specific benefits. Here is the website for your regional medicare contractor. https://www.noridianmedicare.com/bene/ Call them and ask them if its covered and how to go about getting it paid for for you. Give the info to the insurance person at your surgeons office. Sometimes. Since this is all new they don't know so at least you can speed up the process. Hope this helps and good luck!
  7. Hi! Your best bet is to search for your medicare contractor that is doing the claims for your region. I looked up mine in Texas because it had just been approved in July by Medicare but took until December 10th to be approved by the regional contractor. If you find their website, look under they press releases. They usually have the procedure of how to bill and what diagnosis will be covered to get the sleeve. The. Print it out and give it to your drs office. Most drs offices are learning as well and might not know how to bill or get Pre approval just yet. If you wait on ten to do it you will be waiting a loooooooong time. I hope this helps and you get your surgery soon:).
