  1. I don't think you should post topics like this without getting the facts. alighterme is a coordinator company who had a contract with Dr.Kelly. The contract is now up and Dr.Kelly no longer wants to work for them because they DO NOT DO THEIR SURGERIES AT A HOSPITAL. IT'S A LITTLE CLOSET LIKE ROOM. I had my surgery with Dr.Kelly at florence hospital and it was great. Dr.kelly books his own surgeries and doesn't use a coordinator services anymore. a lighter me spreads rumours about fake "safety concerns" for any doctor that doesn't want to use them anymore. Also Dr.Kelly has NOT lost his credentials like the rumours some people are spreading!! He did have a patient die AFTER the surgery from a pulmonary embolism. SHE LIED ABOUT NOT TAKING MEDICATION AND THAT WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. THE AUTOPSY ALSO SHOWED SHE WOULD HAVE DIED WITHIN WEEKS OF THE SURGERY FROM THE EMBOLISM ANYWAY. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION!
  2. I had surgery with Dr.Kelly at Oasis of Hope hospital. $5500 contact his personal assistant Lora (she's a sweetheart) at info@wlsclinic.com
  3. I went with Dr.Kelly. He is a really sweet man. I did not go through the Mexico bariatric centre though as they do surgery out of a clinic. I contacted Dr.Kelly directly and had surgery at Florence Hospital. It's a little more money but I would rather be at a hospital. I paid $5500. You can contact his assistant Lora at info@wlsclinic.com
  4. I take NSAIDS for a separate medical condition. My doctor prescribed me a prescription NSAID with a stomach protectant in it to help prevent ulcers.
  5. I'm 24. I'm only 3 weeks post op though. The biggest change for me is the emotional aspect. So many social activities revolve around food. I feel like a hermit some days but I know it will get better as I start eating regular food again.
  6. Hey everyone.. March 1st sleeved here! That's right I'm on the sleeved side! First day or so was very difficult with gas pains but I am feeling much better this morning sipping on Gatorade. !
  7. I'm sleeved! The gas pain is horrible by the way but I'm pushing through.

  11. Hey! Yes I have done lots of research.. I've even read 6 books on WLS recently. It's more just nerves kicking in now. I had to go off my anxiety medication and that has been hard. I just need some encouragement! Dr.Kelly does not usually use a drain except for very high risk patients. My family is nervous but they support me. I keep getting the "why don't you just diet and exercise?" Yea right.. If that was the trick wouldn't everyone be skinny?? Bah.. So now I'm just fighting the nerves .. I fly out on Thursday!
  12. Thanks BrainyBabe! I'm excited but a bit nervous. Did anyone tell you that you were crazy for doing this? Haha

  16. Hey there my surgeon's cut off is 31 bmi. I still have a one week pre op diet to do. I have never had to worry about keeping weight on before lol
  17. March sleevers I'm getting nervous! My bmi has dropped from 35 to 33. I dunno what's going on with that- great that I am loosing weight I just don't want it to disqualify me from surgery. This has never happened before.. Maybe it's stress? Any low bmi sleevers out there?
  18. I'm march 1 too. I'm also not that big 33-34 bmi. I have the same devil on my shoulder too trying to razz up my anxieties!

  21. Hey I'm Nikki and I'm 24. Looking for support. I'm getting sleeved on march 1st. If anyone wants to be support buddies I'd love one as I am scared and nervous. Thanks
  22. Yes I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well. My surgery is march 1st too! My doctor is requiring me to go off of my anxiety medication for at least 3 days prior to surgery. I am very scared as I know I am going to be so nervous about the surgery and with no meds it's going to be so much worse! I have slowly been decreasing my medication in prep for going off of it and teaching myself deep breathing and relaxation techniques. I have had extreme highs and lows emotionally regarding booking my surgery it's been like a roller coaster. I have found through the more information I can find and read about the procedure the less anxiety I have We will do great Sleeve Sister! Nikki
  23. I'm march 1st too! Go us!
