  1. I remember seeing a suggested list of what to have at the hospital and at home for the surgery and can't find it now. Can someone point me in the right direction?
  2. Hey All, I'm Jen and weigh 239.8. I started this process October 3, 2012. I quit smoking 12/26 my 37th birthday. I am going through Kaiser so I have almost jumped through all the hoops. Surgery scheduled for 5/13 and just a blood test and nicotine test left to go. I go back and forth between being scared and confident on my decision for the sleeve (as most of us do.) 2 biggest reasons for surgery other than the obvious: lower back pain and I am a confident women as long as I am not in front of a reflective surface:) My family and most of my friends have been extremely supportive. I let work know today and while I haven't got a response yet I imagine they will be supportive after they get over me needing time off. I look forward to the support of this group and getting to know everyone! JenMac
  3. Got my date today 5/13....super excited-nervous! A May group would be fun! Anyone else interested?
  4. I have jumped through all of the hoops now I'm just waiting for my surgery date. Starting to get nervous about the liquid diet and getting all my post-surgery stuff. Now that I lost the 20 pounds the Dr required me to loose I am wondering if I should just keep at it on my own. However, I don't want for it to be a year from now and wish I would have done the surgery. I know all of this is normal from reading threads on this board but I'm starting to Freak the Eff Out!!!
  5. I have been grateful for the horror stories. I am in the process of losing 17# to be approved for the sleeve. They do scare me and I think I should be scared. This is a life changing surgery with risks that need to be considered. If someone out in the real world has an opinion to have the surgery because they watched someone they love come close to death...I would say I'm so sorry, try and comfort them, and move on with my surgery based off the reasons I have decided to have it. It's crazy to me that we would treat people different here because we are anonymous. I feel after surgery I will be that much more vigilant to watch out for scary symptoms because of these posts. Thanks to all of you who post your stories...good and bad. They are all helpful!
  6. I quit smoking, soda, beer & now my Dr says gum is a no no???
