Just reading this but ...i have the same insurance and i was approved w/in 2 days did u have the 6 mo nut requirement?

Hello there well herea my 2 cents... I currently have Independance blue PPO but any surgical is covered through Highmark and all will be billed through excellus bcbs so yes they do cover it AS LONG as there is no employer exclusion which is what happend to me last yr and in jan my hubby employer switched ins co so first call and make sure the employer has not opted out of bariatric coverage and go from the there ..best of luckCongrats im 8/14...
