About 2 wks, 3 days out? What are you eating?
Sleeved 2/7. Still on full liquids until 2/28! Blended/cream soups, drinkable yogurt, shakes... yeah, that's about it. Very boring. I am so ready for soft foods. I've never wanted cottage cheese or tuna fish so bad!

Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
Hi guys! I promise every day it continues to improve. I was sleeved 2/7/2013 and am finally feeling almost normal again. I just reached my first goal- Onderland!!! And tomorrow is my BDay :-) so excited! HW: 236, consultation: 229, preop: 222, SD: 212. I will advise to watch your BM closely and talk to your doc if you're not having good BM regularly. I though I was all good, but my first trip to the gym went bad when it hit me like a ton of bricks! Sorry, TMI

Any good broth/soup base recipes?
I was traveling on my pre-op, so I had to find a way around the canned stuff. I went to panera and ordered chicken noodle soup, but I asked for the broth only. I then strained it, and let me tell you, I was in HEAVEN! You could probably run it through a cheese cloth to get the last bit of particles out post op.

Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
Absolutely! They are your main source of satisfaction. I found that I needed about 20g of protein every 4-5 hours to manage hunger pre-op, and it worked pretty well. It also helps prevent muscle loss.

Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
I was on clear liquids for 7 days and only lost 6. It's way too early to start getting frustrated with your numbers :-) Be patient! Your body is going to do what it wants to- just stick with it.

- Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
hi Guys, I had my surgery 2/7 and came home yesterday. I didn't exactly bounce back from surgery nicely, but as everyone says, it seems to get better each day. I gained about 8 lbs of fluid in the hospital. I think some of the swelling is going down, because I am getting liquids down pretty well. The area to the right of my navel is swollen/numb and the only pain I really have left is on the right side of my abdomen. I have been coughing up some mucus, and I'm thinking it's related to my chronic sinus issues (hopefully). Has this happened to anyone else? Tummy is rumbling like crazy, and it feels like it's all pressured up in there. I've found that a heating pad has helped me get some of the gas out. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can have a good BM soon. Either way, I am feeling very blessed! I'm lucky to have a sleeve buddy who I met on here who is the same BMI, age, surgeon, and surgery date. She was right across the hall in the hospital, too!- Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

Today is the day! Waiting here now. Good luck to the 7th sleevers!- Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
Yes, I understand! The Protein is curbing my hunger, but I feel like I'm missing something. My life has revolved around food for so long, now what?- Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
I am on day 3 of 7 day clear liquids. Day one was tough while at a work conference with 5 buffets throughout the day! Torture! This site has been immensely helpful. Cytosport and premiere are lifesaving! Made some homemade chicken broth today which is kicking the canned broth's butt.- What i won't miss about been over weight.
I won't miss... Not being able to leave the house without compression garments to hold my rolls in. Avoiding social situations bc I would be left out when guys come to talk to/dance with all my beautiful friends. Avoiding dinner plans bc I want to secretly eat more but not show anyone. Going out of my way to buy candy and avoiding eye contact from people in the store due to guilt. Looking at all the nice clothes in my closet with tags where I squeezed into them in the dressing room, thinking, "I will fit these soon." Then looking like the Michelin Man when my weight goes up rather than down. Feeling like I'm too fat to live like I should at 25 y/o. Hearing, "you're not THAT big." Really? I don't need your opinion. LOL- One Week Post Op!
Where did you get a copy of his post op diet? I would love to see something structured! My Dr. Has guidelines but it couldn't hurt to see more.- 12-12-12 surgery date people...
I heard they sell Premiere at Sam's too- Pre-op diet and business travel
Good for you! I feel your pain! Day one of my 7 day clear liquid preop diet starts tomorrow, and I am out of town for a work conference where they provide meals. I still don't know how to handle lunch yet! I will be gone for 4 of 7 days of my preop diet. Pray for me!- Any Texas Gastric Sleeve Buddies?
I am in North Dallas (Addison)! Scheduled for Feb 7th and looking for a sleeve buddy so my friends/family don't get too tired of hearing about it lol.- Dr. Jay - Your Experience
Hi Don! I am scheduled to be sleeved by Dr. Jayaseelan Feb 7th. Congrats on your revision, and I'm glad to hear everything is going well. Keep us posted and let us know if you have any pointers!- Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !
Hi everyone! I am scheduled for Feb 7th with Dr. Jayaseelan at Forrest Medical Park. I hope to meet some of you guys at support meetings and such! I am new to Dallas, so I do not know manny people yet. If you guys know of any groups, classes, meetings, therapists, or other valuable resources, I would love to know!- Any Other February 7th Surgery Dates?
Me too! Congrats to you as we'll! I still need to clarify exactly what I will be able to consume. I am trying to start making some cuts now such as caffeine and carbonation so that it will be easier later. Sweets will be the hardest thing for me to kick. I hope you're not as scared as I am! This whole thing is giving me anxiety already lol.- Any Other February 7th Surgery Dates?
Meeee! Getting Sleeved on Feb 7th!- 5 Confessions (Join In)
(3 weeks Pre-op) I confess that I'm deathly afraid of complications, even though I am low risk. I confess that I am attempting to give up carbonated drinks and caffeine before surgery, but I haven't been able to kick sugar yet. My caffeine withdrawls have been exhausting! I confess that I am afraid of resorting back to my old ways, and I can't imagine myself being able to resist sweets. I confess that I actually enjoy working out, but I hate that my body limits me. I can't wait to be able to run and dance without feeling like my knees are going to break and my is going heart explode. I confess that I am ready to kick this weight's a$$ so that I can do all the things 25 year olds should be doing!- What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
I have been overweight my entire life, but I had accepted that I am a "big girl." I have lost and maintained for a while, then eventually gained over and over. Luckily every time I diet, I pick up a good habit. At this point, I don't drink any sugar and exercise 3-4 times per week. That has been enough to maintain but not really lose. Lately, my knee has been getting the best of me while I jog or do Zumba, to the point where I have to back down. Then, at Christmas dinner, as my diabetic aunt and grandpa were checking their blood sugar, I took a good look at my aunt, who everyone has always compared me to physically. She is about a size 24/26, and has had numerous surgeries for her obesity related health problems. I asked here what size she was at my age (25)- turns out she was exactly my size (18/20). At that moment, I felt like I was looking into a mirror of my future. I had to decide if wanted to live like that or if I wanted to change my fate. Scheduled surgery 2/7/2013. - Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
