  3. Hey Christy how are things going, well the pulmonary test consist of a whole lot of breathing in and out through a hose then they put you in a chamber to see the level of your breathing and they also take blood from your artery in your wrist..not sure if that's how fae they have to go for you but that's what was done for me..keep in touch and I'm still seeing vemulapalli at montefiore ...hope to see you soon as well
  4. Hey Tina I'm not sure who I will be seeing for my pulmonary I have to pick up my referral for the pulmonary ...and I decided on the sleeve because in the beginning I really wanted the lap band but changed my mind after reading up on it and the maintenance with it..and the bypass I don't want to lose the weight so quickly so I decided to go with the sleeve its in between the Lapland and bypass
  5. Hey Tina good to know someone is on the same path as all of us welcome...what hospital are you going to for your surgery I see you put the name of the doctor but not the hospital...why didn't you stay with montefiore??? Just curious don't mean to be nosey I will be have mine done with Dr. Vemulapalli at Monte hopefully soon.
  6. I'm sure you will be fine though its just the looks of the place the bariatric building is beautiful its just the hospital that spooks me lol...but hopefully your sister will be there the day of your surgery to assist you and make you comfortable. I'm having mine done at montefiore hospital in the bronx hopefully soon..
  7. My friend came out fine and yea I know they moved to the new building that's the one I was going to I'm just speaking of the hospital because that's where u will get your surgery at when I went for the pulmonary, abdominal scan in the hospital it just spooks the hell out of me. But overall my friend came out good and she is fine till this day..I'm just a worrisome person when it comes to certain things
  8. Hello Odette I went to Harlem hospital last year and honestly their appointments are very quick...my friend went there and had her surgery that's why I had decided to go there..I had done the majority of my appointments and all but backed out because of how the hospital looked so dingy and dark looking...Dr. Ahmed is very good from what I hear I just get very scared and worried when it comes to the looks of the hospital but if you can erase all of that from your mind you will be fine because that Dr is good
  9. Hello fattyaj hope all is well with u from the surgery...just wanted to know where did u have your surgery at? How did u feel after surgery?
  10. Oh ok that's good I hope all works out with you and your surgery..keep in touch
  11. Ok I'm sure yours will be very soon sooner than mine being that your practically almost don't..well good look and please keep me posted...I would lo e to know the experience and outcome.
  12. Hello nyc8dove Thanks for the reply but I was told by my surgeon that the only requirement healthfirst needed from me was a cardiology, pshyc, pulmonary and pcp clearance and also 2 weigh ins which I have scheduled already once that is all done I would get a package from my nutritionist for test to be done before surgery and then I see my surgeon once more before surgery.....so I just have to basically do my part.
  13. Hey Christy So I had my first appointment today with Dr. Vemulapalli I was told I have to see a cardiologist, pulmonary, and psychiatrist...I was given an appointment for weight management next month..I have to see the nutritionist twice then once I'm done with the above doctors the nutritionist will give me a package and an appointment to see vemulapalli for surgery..so how I'm seeing it I should be having my surgery in about April or may sometime..I asked if my insurance required a 6 months weigh ins she said no so that's good...I hate the long wait lol so my next appointment is march 6 with the nutritionist..hope all is well with you on your Quest as well
