Hi everyone ! my name is lisa , I am 41 , and live in Murfreesboro ,Tn.For as long as i can remember , I have always wanted the gastric surgery.I grew up with a family of morbidly obese emotional eaters , and have vowed I would not live unhealthy any more.Let me share a lil story......i have been a hospice aide for 23 years now, and a good 10 + years ago , i took care of a lil lady that i loved dearly . She lived with her grandson , and his wife and several grandchildren.The grandson was just in his 30's , not much older than i , and I can recall him telling me how so badly he wanted gastric bypass. This man was severely obese , and his doctor would make him go to the local post office to get weighed because a typical scale just would not register.I recall him telling me stories of how his weight was killing him , and how one day he would just love to get outside and throw a football with his sons ...shortly after , "nannie" passed away, and i lost touch with the family.several yrs passed , and one day i had a flat tire not far from where this family lived . a man pulled out and asked if i needed any help...he looked vaguely familar, but it did not register . He said .."you dont remember me ,do you?"....lo and behold , it was him .!!!!!He lost a total of over 300 pounds !!!he looked amazing, and at that point was an inspiration to me !!I had checked into surgery several times over the years , but my insurance would never approve it .I have met the most wonderful boyfriend 5 yrs ago , and sure enough, this past year his company allowed girlfriends to be added to their insurance !!And .. his insurance approved it !!!!I was beyond ecstatic !!!i followed up with my medical doctor and did everything required of me and just 2 short weeks ago , on December 8 , 2012 , I had my gastric sleeve surgery !!!..I am still in disbelief, as this is something that i have wanted for forever , and my dream became a reality !!!! :)
