Actually mood swings are to be expected. When your body loses fat, a ton of hormones are released. And especially with rapid weight loss like you get with the sleeve, the emotional swings can be especially dramatic.
It's very important to prepare yourself for these mood changes the first 6 months or so. Things will eventually return to normal, but it can be tough. Hang in there and use this forum and the rest if your support system
Yesterday, February 19, 2013, my insurance company approved me for the gastric sleeve. It's been an 8 month journey and it's finally real
I'm hoping to have the procedure within the next four weeks or so.
To everybody that is going through 6 mo or longer of physician supervised weight loss, or struggling with denials from insurance, hang in there and make this time your own to learn and prepare yourself for this big step.
I'm a bit of a hermit these days. It's really hard for me to even go outside looking and feeling how I do. I don't do things with my friends, love life is nonexistent... Did anybody's social life improve after surgery & weight loss?
I think we've all gone through this. The cases where it goes smoothly are much more rare.
I started the process in July 2012, and had 6 months of physician supervised weight loss, and my insurance paperwork JUST got submitted today.
It's part of the process. Hang in there.
