    Weight gain

I was doing pretty good, been steadily losing about 2 to 3 pounds a week. I was so excited last week cause I was in the very low 160s, 151 will be my hundred pound mark. Then in the last 4 days I've gained 3 pounds without a change in my eating or workout habits. Ugh so frustrating, I really want to hit my 100 pound mark by the time my hubby come to visit in mid June! Have any of you had any weird random gain. I am thinking maybe I'm hitting my 6 month Stall a little bit late. Hope it doesn't last to long, I can finally see my 100 pound mark and so want to reach it!

    Can't stop losing

Hey Everyone, It's been forever since I've been on here, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this same issue. I'm starting to get frusterated. I'm 17 months out from my surgery and was very fortunate to have had a mostly smooth weight loss journey along the way. A few hick ups here and there but for the most part a very successful journey, physically and emotionally. However right now where I am struggling is with stopping the weightless. It's so weird to be on the other side of this weight issue, first overweight and now underweight. Let me tell you people are just as cruel when your underweight as they are when your overweight! I've had a very stressful last 3 months with health issues with my children the Army moving our family and my husband coming home after a year gone to Korea. With that stress I have found it easier to avoid food instead of running to it when I'm stressed. Now I clean or workout when I'm overly stressed. Anyways I had stalled out at about 140, which was 10 pounds below my doctors goal for me and 5 pounds above my personal goal. However I was very happy with it, a size 7/8 looked great on me. I sat there for about 3-5 months and was hoping to stay there. I upped my calorie intake to 1100-1200 a day and was doing good, till January when I moved and, well life happened. I've tried to keep my calorie intake up but most days I get between 900 and 1000 a day, and my weight is continually falling the last 3 months. I've lost 30 pounds, 10 pounds a month which is my fastest weight loss ever and I am now underweight and way to skinny am I hate it. I am a size 2-4 which is smaller than I was when I was in JR High my husband is not thrilled with it as I am super boney, my ribs are constantly showing and my hips jut out like crazy. He's constantly afraid of hurting, which he accidentally does all the time. It's super frusterating, have any of you ever experienced this? How did you get the weight back on afterward? Any suggestions/support would be super appreciated. Thank you all and I hope you are all still enjoying your journey.

    Can't stop losing

Just wanted to add in an update, I have finally started not just maintaining but actually very slowly gaining some weight back which I am very happy about. I HAVE to continually keep a food journal and have to have at least 2 smoothies a or Protien shakes a day to keep my calories high enough to maintain and 3-4 a day to gain. I've learned how May calories my body has to have to maintain and gain. I would like to address the few negative comments and messages I recieved mostly about working out. When I lost weight it was not to feel better about myself it was to regain an active lifestyle that I was so badly missing overweight and so for me working out is a very important thing it's one of the main reason I had this surgery. I understand that everyone does this for there own reasons but that was an important one for me. For those of you who told me I just needed to stop working out and argued that I was continuing to do it for "control" issues you are incorrect, working out for me is a tremendous stress relief and I did have to modify my cardio and add in more strength training. I want to enjoy my new healthier body by getting out and using it, working out, going hiking, mountain climbing, riding bikes, running at the beach. I did have to learn how to have this lifestyle manage stress and figure out exactly how much calories/Protien my body needs. For the naysayers this does not mean I need counseling or have a problem and for those of you that have the opposite problem and messaged me because you where angry that I was "complaining" about losing weight I was not complaining I was reaching out for advice. I am sorry that some of you are not having the results you wanted and I hope that you are able to get the support you need and figure out what will work for YOUR specific body and lifestyle. Good luck to everyone on this journey and thank you so much to everyone who offered support and positive advice and encouraging words I so appricate you.

    Can't stop losing

Thank you, I didn't think your post was rude at all, I fully agree that is very unusual. In the last month I have undergone a huge battery of tests, blood test, brain and spinal MRIs, pee test, and next I do some nerve testing. At this point other than being stressed and underweight I am very healthy as far as we know. But I have started food journaling again, and also started a health journal so I can see of there's any trends there that I'm not noticing. Yesterday started a planned menu with 1300 calories, 1500 is a bit much and at this point not very realistic. Hoping to get things under control here soon and get back to healthy. Just posted on here to see if anyone had been through anything similar so I don't feel so crazy, lol. Thanks everyone for the support and help.

    Can't stop losing

That's a good idea, I'm sure I can add in a Protien smoothie a day. Saw my new doc and nutritionist last week, they where both unhappy with my weight, said I need to gain, but didn't really give me advice on how to. The doc told me to stop working out which is dumb in my opinion. I just worked hard the last year to change my life style and don't want to through it all away. If did switch it up so now I'm doing more strength work and less cardio every week.

    It's been 1 year

I went through with this life changing surgery 1 year ago tomorrow, it was the best thing I have ever done. It has taken a lot of physical and mental work to get back to healthy. Though this year has not been the easiest with other major health issues coming up it has been so rewarding. I am down 111 pounds with 5 pounds to goal, however, My original goal was 150 and I have meet and passed that so YAY! I am so excited to be moving forward with a new healthier, happier, more positive me. I know there are going to be many ups and downs along the road, much like this last year but now I also know that I can get through anything and come out happier and stronger on the other side. Here is a few photos from my last years journey.

Alright, so I'm finally getting back on here. The Omega I have been taking has helped majorly with the pain I was having around my ribs. Still some but not very often. However the rest of the back issues are still there :-/ not worst or better. I'm just going to keep working on strengthening those fine muscles in my back. I am so thankful for the advice, the rib pain was miserable and now it is nearly gone, thanks guys.
  13. Just be sure if you switch to gummies that you get your iron in somehow. Sorry the chewables didn't work for you.
  14. Taradawn15

How fast did you get to goal?

I'm 10 months out, im 5 pounds from MY goal and hit the docs goal at 7 1/2 months. However everyone is very diff so don't base yours and anyone else's, and remember you can lose whatever about you choose to, it's totally up to you. Good luck

Couldn't find it anywhere but online, I just got mine in the mail this morning and took some. Hopefully it will make a difference. I did find a diff. Kind that I didn't buy because I am not super informed about Vitamins. However I found a 45 day supply type at Sprout that are kinda like a gel, it comes in mango, orange and lemon and the clerk said she didn't mind the taste I love mango. It's got 1050 mg long chain omega-3 fatty acids. I will have to compare the two and see. Thanks again

  23. Very few people in my life know I had this surgery, this is why! I was out with a friend who did know about my surgery and she actually said to me I wish I was lucky enough to have that surgery so I could just sit on the couch, eat whatever I want and still just have weight fall off me! Apparently she think I sit at home all day a weight just magically falls off my body! Yes, I will say during the first few months it kinda felt like that, expect for the eating part because i still cant tolerate many food and most likely never will. I have lost over 100 pounds. However after I lost my first 40 pounds I stalled majorly, which thankfully is when I started coming on here and getting advice and encouragement. However to kick up my weight loss I joined a gym, which I go to 5 days a week and work my butt off, I count every calorie (except during my vacation:-/) I have worked very hard at switching my whole family to a REAL FOOD diet, almost no processed foods in our house. To be honest I have been working at this lifestyle to make it work best for me, that's not even taking into account all the mental aspects of dealing with my old food habits and food addiction and getting to the root of those issues so I don't repeat my history. I couldn't believe she said that, it made me wonder how many people really believe this lie and it made me so mad. Fortunately it was just the two of us and I was able to take some time to let her know that it's not that easy. Has this ever happened to any of you? How did you handle it? It made me so mad, but it also made me wonder if I made the right decision not telling people, part of me is glad because I'm less likely to end up in that same situation, however the part of me thinks if I did let people know it would open me up to being able to have these honest real conversation with people. Any ways guess I just wanted to get that off my chest.

    grocery shopping...

One of my other favs is egg whites with black beans, onion, cilantro and spinach tossed in. After I cook it I add some fresh salsa and it is so yummy and super high in protein and low fat because I'm only using egg whites. I always have black beans, cilantro, spinach, onion, and chicken in my house. But I am a Mexican junky so I just measure my food carefully and still enjoy my favs is a healthier version. I have a couple more if you need them later. Good luck.

    grocery shopping...

Alright, we'll first things first every Sunday or Monday I cook up some thinly sliced beef and chicken cut into bite size pieces. I season mine with taco seasoning or a chili powder mix, that way it's easily accessible. My fav fast fix is just a simple quesadilla, I can eat 1/2 at a time. I use low carb tortillas or corn tortillas, I add some of the chicken or beef, a spoonful of black beans, a spoonful diced onion, fresh cilantro and about 1/4 cup cheese. That's my fav and is super easy and fast. Also another good one is a stuffed red pepper. I season ground turkey with a mexi seasoning, cook on stove top, add diced onion, cilantro, black beans cook till onions are done. Cut red pepper in half, stuff with meat mix and if you want top with cheese. I don't top mine with cheese cause I add a bit of low fat sour cream after they are cooked. Cook in over at 350 for 10 to 15 mins. They are amazing add a spoonful of 100 calorie guac and you have 2 high protein meals. My 1/2 quesadilla with added sour cream and guac is about 250 calories and 12/15 grams protein, the 1/4 pepper I can eat for dinner is about 200 calories and has about equal amount of protein. If you make sure to not use fatty meat and don't add guac the fat is low.
