  1. What were the results of your sleep study?
  2. Just talked to my coordinator, shes going to submit today. Fingers crossed guys. Lets see how long this takes.
  3. Did anyone get approved without a letter of from their pcp? On Aetnas policy bulletin they don't require one. The lady at my surgeons office said it wasn't necessary. I figure if they see I have high blood pressure and severe sleep apnea what's the need for the letter?
  4. Wow. Sorry to hear that. Why didn't they approve it? They must not approve weight lost surgeries.
  5. I got the short version guys. It was cool he just asked me questions about my life, my weight history and things like that. He said he feels I'm mentally able and prepared for what I'm about to go through. They submit to my insurance next week. Fingers crossed for my approval.
  6. I'm done with all the necessary requirements. Had my psych eval today. They are going to submit to my insurance next week. One thing I don't have is a letter from my Pcp. I asked my insurance coordinator and she said I didn't need it. Wish me luck. I have Aetna and my BMI is 46 I have high blood pressure and severe sleep apnea I should get approved no problem.
  7. I'm just hoping for the short version guys. Thank you I will keep you all posted.
  8. Hope I don't have to go through that. Lol.
  9. Thanks. Becky. My coordinater told me a note from my PCP wasn't really needed. Should I have one anyway?
  10. Today was the last month of my 3 month visits. I have lost 13 pounds since my first visit Oct 31. I cut out Beer and changed my eating not by much tho. I only have my seminar on Jan 24 and my psych Evaluation which is next Wednesday. Once these are complete they will submit to insurance. I have Aetna and I'm kinda worried about my approval. My BMI is 46 I have high blood pressure and severe sleep apnea. One thing about Aetna I have noticed by reading these post that if your paper work is correct they won't deny you. Can anyone give me pointers on the psych evaluation on what to expect?
  11. Have any of you guys been approached for paid research studies after or before your surgery. I've already been contacted for two one which I did today that paid 80 dollars. The other is post op which will pay me 300. I guess it's because of the hospital I go to New York hospital @ Columbia it's also where they do a lot of research. What do you guys think of this?
  12. Thanks guys. I should be good money then. Have my psych evaluation and last weigh in to go and that is on Jan 11th. I'm so motivated.
  13. So I am almost done with my 90 day supervised weight loss visits. I have a BMI of 46 with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Everything seems set for Aetna to approve me except for my 2yr weight history. The only thing I have is my health assessment that I'm required to take through my job and Aetna that shows my weight for the past 2 years. Is this acceptable?
  14. Congrats to you I can't wait to hear those words. "you are approved"
  15. You were beautiful either way but congratulations on your weight loss
  16. Yea. Good luck Jennifer.
  17. What's up guys? I'm new to this site. I have one more supervised weight loss visit to go on Jan 11th. This week alone I have my seminar, sleep study and stress test. All these things cost money even after insurance. Im just worried that this may be all for nothing and I won't get approved. My BMI is 46. I'm 5'7 and weigh 298 lbs. I'm also worried about my 2 years proof over BMI over 40. I have Aetna insurance and every year since 2008 for work we take a health assessment for atena and it has my weight and BMI I hope this is acceptable. Anyone else use the assessment for proof.
