2 Months Out
I'm so happy. Today, I weighed at the gym. (I have been really scared of the scale.) My surgery was on December 12th. I started out at 327 and today I weigh 270. 57lbs down and 30 since day of surgery. I also have gone from a size 26-28 to a size 18. Let's see what I can do in another month. Yay!!! I pray you all are doing well.

I hate this surgery.
@OnAJourney Buffalo Wild Wings huh? I am now in Week 4 (Soft Food) and loving it. My 2nd week we celebrated my Mom's birthday @ Carolina Kitchen. I had to watch my family eat dinner there, at Christmas, etc. It was hard but as some people here are saying, it gets easier.

I used to figure skate as a child, I'd love to do that again. Also, I'd love to be a runner and go crazy at the playground with my kids.

I hate this surgery.
@gettinMeBack Congrats!!!! You look amazing Girly! My weight is mostly in my belly, I can't wait for it to come down like yours did. Keep up the good work! I love all of you guys responses! Yesterday was the first day I had close to 90g of Protein. It truly does get better. Also, I agree that food taste different now. I don't know if it's mental, but about 2 weeks before surgery, food started to taste different. I have to say, I enjoyed some bland soft chicken with a McDs packet of Spicy buffalo sauce yesterday that was amazing and some salmon and glazed carrots today. Keep an open minds and as my lady on Bariatric Foodie says 'Play with your food.'

How soon did you go back to work?
A week later. I know what you guys are saying 'You're crazy...' I am a contractor. I don't get paid if I don't work. I felt fine. I carry a bag with me everyday with protein, vitamins, MIO for my water and now soft foods. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and I feel great. The first 3 weeks, before food, I can admit, after work an picking up kids and homework, I feel asleep quickly and was always tired.

I hate this surgery.
I rarely get hungry. I think about food all day long, but it got better when I got to puréed/soft food this week. I have been eating in small amounts and loving it. No more eating quickly. I think people mistake hunger with cravings. I just took my kids to McDs and damn those fries smelled delicious. I got a snack wrap, grilled. I ate the chicken out of it in small pieces. It felt like I was able to enjoy my meal partially. LOL! Get some MIO for the water. It helps. I'm working on making protein shakes better. The thickness has been bothering me.

Some people here are meanies
@edz2129644 I so agree with you and I'm dying laughing at the same damn time. You're going to find nastiness wherever you go. Mine is primarily at work. I ignore it and keep a smile on my face. Remember misery loves company. Don't let a few detour (did I spell that correctly...Ugh) you from a site you enjoy. When people post a nasty comment, I simply reply back with a syrupy sweet comment or just ignore. I found some nasty comments on a new site I just posted called Bariatric Foodie, but I love the site too much to let it keep me from coming back everyday. Have fun and keep rocking your sleeve Girly!!!!

Food suggestion...Where are the real cooks?!?
Ok, so now that I have your attention, I just found a website that I love last Friday. This is great for Moms as the blogger has 2 little girls. It's also great for Sleevers left eating the same things over and over again. Google 'Bariatric Foodie.' The creator Nikki (Nik) has some great recipes and ideas. Although she had Gastric Bypass and not Sleeve, we're all in the same boat. If you're already a subscriber, I hope you have enjoyed her post just as much as I have.

Challenge: New Year's Day 2013
Well, I was 283 when I weighed last week. I've lost 17lbs since day of surgery on 12-12. I was disappointed at first, but I am still very happy I dropped those pounds. I've also dropped about 2-3 dress sizes. Congrats to you all. Let's do a Valentine's Day Challenge. What do you say?

Challenge: New Year's Day 2013
Still haven't weighed yet guys. I'll be weighing either later tonight or tomorrow at my gym. I am very excited to announce that since surgery on the 12th, I've dropped between 2-3 dress sizes. I'm so excited to hear how the rest of you guys are doing stalls and all. Keep up the good work!!!!

Is my Mom trying to steal my shine?
@iggychick Actually, both my Mom and BF are the cause of most of my stress. I keep my Mom at a distance (she doesn't have the best attitude or perspective on life, but she's my Mom) and my BF is getting ditched after Christmas, which my Mom knows and agrees with. Don't want to ruin the holiday and I needed the extra help with the kids gifts. @Carol Watts That's really unfortunate. My Mom and I have never had the best relationship, and even though I may feel a certain way, I'd still stick by her side during her surgery. I'm taking off and she's coming to my house to recover. She did the best job taking care of me after I left the hospital. I'd like to return the favor. I'll keep you in my prayers. It would be nice if you two could mend the relationship.

Is my Mom trying to steal my shine?
@ebonisekim That could be true as well. Every time I talked to her she was at a different appointment. I now know why. She didn't have to keep it from me though.

Is my Mom trying to steal my shine?
@Fishy You love punching huh? Punching for ice chips and now punching my BF in the face...LOL! J/K...I totally understand where you are coming from, but my BF knows my Mom always has a hidden agenda. This is the only time in life where my Mom has done something like this. I will be supportive and I am glad she is making a decision to be healthy. @lwilliams65 I think out of all the answers, yours in the one I can relate to the most, as your Mom did the same thing. Maybe she did need me to move first. My Mom is so headstrong, I guess I never thought she could've been afraid to take the next step to a healthier lifestyle. Thanks so much for your input and for the Congrats! :-)

Is my Mom trying to steal my shine?
Thank You to everyone who replied!!!! My initial feeling was to be proud of her for her decision. She's lost over 130lbs on her own, using the Michael Thurmon method, but she is still fairly large (still close to 350lbs). I tried to talk her into the surgery years ago. I will continue to be supportive and shake the negativity.

A newgirlie...literally. 1 year out
