  1. I have one more day...Thursday it's on to puréed. Hang in there...it is tough. I lost 20 lbs since my surgery date...so you can do it!
  2. Hi all....I am about to be 51 in a couple of weeks! I had my sleeve not quite 3 weeks ago. I am having some reflux even on anti-reflux meds. The Dr thinks it will calm down on once i have less sleeve swelling. I have lost 20 lbs so far....and I have another 60 to go. I am happy to see this group as I am very worried about how wrinkled my neck and face will be once I go down another sixty lbs. I am not afraid of plastic surgery if I need it....I just don't want to look like I had plastic surgery! Some people over do it! So I am just starting to scour this thread to read the info....it's very helpful.
  3. Me to Cindy..but I have not been added.
  4. I was sleeved on the 24th and I think I am turning the corner to feeling better. One incision still hurts....but is getting better each day. Had my post op follow up today. Lost 20 lbs since surgery down to 219! I start multivitamins on my 2 week surgery date and start puréed food. Progress!
  5. I was told to start vitamins on my 2 week anniversary date which is Wednesday.
  6. It's like a saltine only smaller with no salt.
  7. I am starting purée on Thursday. One of the things on my list I can have is potted meat, which I liked growing up as a kid. But I always ate them with crackers. I will be 2 weeks out from surgery. How bad is it to eat 2 table water crackers with my 2 allotted tablespoons if I chew it really really well?
  8. It's the protein taste...I have hypersensitive taste buds right now and I don't like yogurts or cottage cheese. So, Have been "sampling" stuff trying to find some that will give me the extra protein I need. I get enough fluid ( I am a water drinker), so no issues with dehydration...just need something that does not taste so proteinish when I consume it.
  9. Welcome to the sleeve side. I had mine a week before you. It's been rough getting all my fluids in and still can't get enough protein. I still have poor stamina, but I each week has gotten better. This site is a great place to read information as you recovery and move on into maintenance. I am addicted and read here all the time!
  10. I have experience this to around a couple of my big incision sites when I engage my abd muscles. It has gotten better with time.
  11. I agree....this site is awesome!
  12. My 1st follow up appoint with the surgeon is tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much I have dropped. My wounds are healing and itch like crazy and the covering they put on them is peeling off. I am so ready for purée I am so tired of just liquids.
  13. I have always held my breath while drinking them. I have very few of the protein mixes or ready made drinks that I can drink leisurely and think they are great. I struggle with that protein smell and that taste. But I have to have them for now until I get my intake where I can manage my protein in take with normal food.
  14. Thanks for this...I did not like the injury either....my taste buds must be hypersensitive to "tasteless" because the Unjury was not tasteless to me. I will try the JRobb to see if that is any better.
  15. A tummy tuck pulls it all up....looks brand new

  17. Congrats! I have Cigna and they are reasonable....you just have to follow their instructions and meet the criteria based on what's posted on their website. They are not as difficult as you have heard. I have a great nurse case manager they have assigned. She called me the day before surgery and the day after my discharge to make sure I had what I needed.
  18. Did you use anything on your scars to help diminish them? I have an old tummy tuck scar that is ugly and 2 of my incision sites for this surgery look really bad. Not sure if they will heal as nice as yours. They used my old lap scar from when I had my hysterectomy years ago and stretched out my belly button :0 ! But I am hoping mine will heal as nicely as yours. I have a few years of age on me compared to you....but what it shakes out to look like. ....i will be happy!
  19. I had my surgery on April 24. Today was my first day getting frustrated with the diet. I want to chew something so bad....I chew my jello like its prime rub....I can't believe I am anticipating puréed food! This full liquid diet is testing my endurance!
  20. Hi CJ My PCP letter did not state it was medical necessary, just that I was a good candidate. I got approved in 5 days.
  21. You look great! Thank you for sharing! Sent from my iPad using VST
