  1. Hi, everyone. I will be banded on May 21st and have my pre-op on Monday 11th. I'm really getting excited and nervous at the same time.
  2. Hi, just checking in. Today I have Bariatric University. I'm excited about getting more info before surgery. Sounds like everyone has this exercising down and are doing a great job. How soon after surgery can you start (besides walking)? Susan
  3. Hi, Sherry. I'm due to get my band on May 21st too! I'm 58 so I'm nearly 60. From what I have read the medications do come in liquid form. Welcome, Susan
  4. Hey Carbgirl. The consultation went great and I now have my surgery date of May 21, 2009. I start the Optifast shakes on May 7th. It will be a challenge, but I'm going to do this like I'm supposed to. I'm really looking foward to my surgery date - I get kind of mixed emotions - scared one minute then I can hardly wait the next. It's a real roller coaster ride. My dh and I are going to bariatric university on May 4 - Monday. Hope I learn a lot there, too. Thanks for responding. I'll be on the post op board in about 18 more days. Susan
  5. Hello everyone. I'm new to this board, but wanted to introduce myself. I'm just starting the journey to a new me. I have my band date of May 21, 2009. Just 20 more days! I'm really excited and scared to death. I know I'm doing the right thing, just a chciken about the unknown. I've read the surgery stories and they all sound like the worst part of the surgery is the gas pain. I can handle that. Will make this my new instead of eating activity. I like meeting and making new friends. Will post more later, Susan
  6. 2 weeks pre op do you get any food or just the shakes ? I was lucky only had 1 week preop and I got fish and salad for dinner... I will be having Water, crystal light and sf Jello in addition to the shakes. I will do this because it is a necessary part of my process to becoming thin.
  7. Hi, everyone. I'm Susan and I have a band date of May 21, 2009. I'm really looking forward to the beginning of a new life. I hope to become a regular here and look forward to your experiences and guidance through the days ahead. Thanks, Janet for inviting me to join you all here. P.S. I start the Optifast shakes on May 7th for 2 weeks.
  8. Mosey, congratulations on your weight loss. I hope to be down in the 130's too. Maybe even the 120's. I've already promised myself that I will walk no matter what. Thanks for the encouragement. Susan
  9. ahb08, Good luck on your banding, too. Have you picked out a doctor yet? Dr. Kim and his staff are really great. Susan
  10. Quilting is a great hobby. Did you feel like quilting while you were recouperating? How long did you take off. I figure since my surgery is on Thurs., I'll take the following week off.

I got my surgery date today. Looks like I will be a May bandster. My new life begins on May 21 (surgery date). Will start liquid diet on May 7th. Hope that goes quickly. I'm going to try to post here often. It will be a place for me to vent and celebrate.

  13. Txquiltlady - Do you quilt? I'm a quilter too. Ever go to Quilters Dream? I really liked everyone at Dr. Kim's office. I'm even getting excited about barriatric University. Was it really informative? Susan
  14. Congratulations on your upcoming date. I'm so glad there was nothing wrong. That's just great news. Susan
  15. Hi, SMS1964. Be sure to let us know when you get your date. What kind of testing are you doing? Susan
