  1. Awesome description! So appreciated! I wish you the best and hope to follow in your footsteps very soon!
  2. So I've read a few things on here stating some doctors do 2 leak tests before you leave and even give you a DVD with proof of the results which raises 3 questions: 1.) once you are found to be leak free, are you good to go or is it possible to develop a leak further out? 2.) if the doc finds a leak does he wheel you back down the hall and throw a few more stitches in? 3.) is the test done with X-ray and contrast? Do you swallow/ drink something or is it injected down your throat? I know leaks are very rare and I hope I don't sound paranoid, just covering the what -ifs, ya know? Thanks in advance.
  3. Ok I am pre-op but experienced massive (or so it seemed) a while ago and tried this stuff I found on-line called "hair essentials" out of desperation and the reviews on their website..... That stuff actually worked! I started seeing little sprouts in about 2 weeks and way less in the sink. 3 things... It grew in gray.... It stops working when you stop taking it and it's a little pricey. I don't sell it or receive anything for advertising, and I quit taking it because Im saving up for my sleeve but it's worth looking into and I plan in going back on it as soon as I have all my surgery money accounted for.
  4. Ok, this sounds awful but... I don't normally pay too much attention to the guys before and after pics.... I know y'all worked hard and Im really happy for you but Im pre-op and I just don't relate to the guys (or hope to look like "that"when it's all said and done) and honestly, I like my guys a little in the husky side... That being said..... Wow! You are hot! ???? I wonder if my bf would get the wrong impression if I put a picture of you on my fridge????
  5. I feel the same way! I mean it's great that people don't care what others think but I just don't want to be berated by my well meaning loved ones (while they deal with their obesity related health issues and seriously ask "why me") I also don't know what to tell work. It's a relatively new job, I've been looking up minor surgical procedures with comparable down time.... I know that's bad but... If anyone can through some suggestions (good excuses lol) I would appreciate it.
  6. You look amazing! Congratulations! Us pre-op'ers (well at least this one) appreciate you guys sharing your photos soooo much! It's so inspirational and validating! A picture is truly worth a thousand words:-)
  7. We've all lost weight "naturally" at one point in our lives or another. .... I probably would have (in the sweetest voice possible) offered condolence for her friend, told her how fantastic I felt and proceeded to tell her how likely she statistically is to gain all (plus some) of her weight back, and how I hope, for her sake, (and the sake of her livelihood) she's one of the lucky few.
  8. Has anyone heard of or tried a supplement called "Hair Essentials"? I found this stuff on the web and tried because of the reviews (and probably because Im kind of a sucker for an easy fix). It actually worked for me. After a few weeks, I had a thick spiky sprout of regrowth on my scalp. The only downfall was that it was mostly gray! WT Frick! But hey, I'll take it! It's kind of pricey but worth reading up on.
  9. I am right there with you. I have tried to go through my insurance and after a year of red tape, have decided to go to Mexico for self pay.I am depressed, self loathing at times, my body aches all over, I'm always tired, always hungry and quite frankly, hate getting out of bed everyday. I vowed earlier today that this will be the last Christmas like this. There is hope. I read about it everyday on here. It isn't going to be easy but these people on here attest that it can be done. We are going to get there. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming"- Dori, Finding Nemo :-)
  10. You look great! I can't wait!
  11. There are lots of people your age getting this done. There are more still (myself included) that wish we would have had it done at your age. I wish you the best. Sending positive karma your way!
  12. R.U.N! Like your life depended on it. This is not how best friends treat each other. This is not supportive. Honey you are WAY too young to be dealing with drama! This is not about you changing and becoming one of those "skinny b**ches" he should live that you feel good about yourself, not tear you down! "Remember I wanted you when no one else would"????? HELL NO! Remind him that you put up with his B.S. when no one else will but that your patience has about run out! Tell him if he needs to be with someone whos insecure about themselves to make himself feel better, you are not the girl for him. You deserve someone that is crazy about you not someone's who's just crazy.
  13. I meant Dr Almanza. Read both good and bad things about him.
  14. You look fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration.
  15. Guillermo Alvarez Anyone want to share their testimony? I'm pretty sure he's the only one I can afford but would love to hear from some of his patients. Side note: he's terribly good looking!
  16. Yay! Congrats! Green with envy but so happy for you!
  17. I am sorry you are going through this. I am pre-op so please forgive my ignorance. What is sliming?
  18. These are all great! I'm excited for everyone here to wear yoga pants, hot hooker boots, ride roller coasters and travel by mass transportation and be able to see their junk! Especially all you young people! Life is short! I wish I would have done this 15 years ago!
