  1. Is it a rash? Or a skin yeast infection? Shortly after surgery I got what I assumes was a rash in the folds of my skin and under my breast, my dr said it was a fungal infection(similar to athletes foot) and told me to use over the counter athletes foot cream. it cleared up in a few days
  2. I started taking biotin months before the surgery...my hair was thinning way before surgery. I haven't noticed any unusual hair loss but I'm only about 3 weeks post op. My dr told me to continue crushing all pills..until week 6. I'm also using Garnier Fall Fight shampoo. I read about it on another post and it help with hair loss. The shampoo and conditioner has biotin and caffein in it.
  3. I've lost 12 lbs Sent from my iPad using VST
  4. OMG!!! I thought it was only me! I was sleeved on the 14th and I am ALWAYS freezing. I sleep with my robe, socks and heater on. Previously I was always HOT. Glad to see I'm not going crazy lol
  5. When you are put under your body kinda "resets" so irregularity in your period is not uncommon. I was sleeved Nov 14th and when I left the hospital I had two days of very light spitting. Now my period is "suppose" to begin on the 25th, but I'm sure it's gonna be outta whack so I'm not going to worry if it's a no show
  6. Way to go! Thankyou for taking the time to post the foods. I'm one week out. I was sleeved last Wednesday. It amazes me how meal plans and prgression of stages differ from surgeon to surgeon .
  7. I'm glad I found this thread. I to was sleeved on the 14th and am experiencing a lot of hunger. I'm just chalking it up to being only on liquids. The liquids seem to go down very easily...almost too easily. I've read one you progress to puréed a no soft foods, the "full" feeling will kick in. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this Sent from my iPad using VST
  8. I was sleeved on the 14th...went home on the 16th. Started full liquids on the 17th. First couple days it was hard to get in all my Protein and liquids...now I can. I actually feel like things are going down too easily. I actually get very hungry in the evening. I'm down 8lbs since day of surgery. I'm on liquids until the 30th then I can move to puréed foods. I'm looking forward to chewing again! I'm in no pain, been off pain meds since leaving the hospital. I do find if I don't get my protein in I'm very fatigued . But So far no problems. :-)
  9. Thanks for all the tips! I guess what kinda through me for a loop is that I'm following the doctors orders EXACTLY... I'm using their sample menu exactly as its written and I wonder if they are aware of the misinformation printed on the menus
  10. Oh and when I say one protein drink is 210 calories that include one scoop of powder (100 calories) plus one 8 oz cup of lactaid low fat milk (110 calories)
  11. Ok...I'm not sure if I'm over thinking this. Or maybe I'm not that good with numbers. But I'm 5 days post op...on a full liquid diet and required/expected to get in 6 "meals" a day. 3 of them must be 8 oz protein shakes with 20-30 hm of protein per serving. Now my calorie goal is 400-600 calories a day. But one 8 oz protein drink contains 210 calories...drinking that 3 times a day is about 630 calories. I've already exceeded my caloric intake with the shakes alone! This does not include the "breakfast, lunch and dinner" full liquid meals! Am I doing something wrong??
  12. I actually bought some unflavored protein that I'm sprinkling on everything! I add it to the broths, creamed soups and plain yogurt. I've actually created my own little "parfaits" using plain Greek yogurt and crystal light...they are super yummy! And packs protein!
  13. I was sleeved on the 14th. :-) so far so good. I'm just having a tough times getting in my 64 oz of fluids and the protein ...but I haven't had to take pain melds since friday and finally feel well enough to drive Sent from my iPad using VST
  14. Since its fall/winter leggings are totally in! I say invest in a couple pairs (different colors) and 2-3 tunics and just mix and match them. Leggins will shrink as you shrink. Lane Bryant has great quALity leggings and usually the day after thanksgiving their entire store is 50% off. Also like others said...try thrift stores or ebay.
  15. Exciting! Just remember to stay calm and the results are way greater than the sacrifice
  16. I was sleeved on the 14th and I've been feeling the same way with my full liquid diet. I can't wait to get to the puréed stage. I've read this is the stage when you "feel full" . This full liquid diet still leaves me kinda hungry
  17. Hello...I'm new to the board and I was sleeved 5 days ago (11-14-12) im glad I found this thread. Most of my family questioned my decision to have the surgery right before the Holidays because I'd be missing out on all the good food lol. It made me really realize how important "soul food" is to our community. My first day home from the hospital, I came home to my mom cooking fried chicken, roast, fried cabbage, Mac n chesse and rice n gravy...and to wash it all down a nice tall pitcher of Kool aid. I felt like I was on an episode of punked...lol. Was she serious?!?!? So I sat in my room sipping on my protein shake while mourning all the delicious foods that were being prepared. Lol
  18. Hello...this is my first time posting. I was sleeved on 11/14/12 so I'm 5 days out. My weight on surgery day was 312. When I started the options classes at kaiser in June I weighed 336. My goal Weight is 200lbs, but my batiatrician said I could go as low as 180. I really think being tall is a blessing. We seem to "carry" our weight better. Even being over 300lbs, people told me They would have never guessed I was that heavy. Im looking forward to shedding this weight. My only concern is loose skin . I'm 32 so I'm hoping my age and elasticity will be my saving grace, but I'm also top Heavy (46 H) and I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of deflation lol. I'm glad I found this site and look forward to joining others on their weightloss journey
