  1. There's a BIG difference!! Be proud... you are doing a great job!! Keep up the good work. ????
  2. I was sleeved 3/7. Down a total of 37 lbs. My son went to hug me last night and for the first time in a long time he was able to get his arms all the way around me. "Mom your getting skinny." I never thought I would hear those words...
  3. I also got my period early. I weighed myself one day and was up 3 lbs. I couldn't understand why. Then later that morning it came. Can't seem to get the scale to budge. Very depressing since its so close to surgery. How is everyone else doing with weight loss while they have their period?
  4. It's just amazing to me how differently each surgeon is. I was on clear liquids for 2 days an went right to puréed foods.
  5. Went to my surgeon today for my 2 week follow up . He said it was fine to get back to the gym. No restrictions. I can use weights, do crunches, swim, etc. he told me to be careful and make sure I listen to my body. If I get too tired to stop.
  6. Hi everyone. I was sleeved on March 7 and was wondering if its too soon to be working out. I know we are supposed to be walking, and I do try my best to get it in and having 2 small kids keeps me going. But how much walking are we supposed to be doing? Is it to early to get back to the gym? Would love to hear what everyone is doing.
  7. RIP friend. I cannot believe I am reading this. As so many of you have said, yes we know the risks but it is still heartbreaking when something like this happens. I know he was so happy with his weight loss. So unfair. Prayers to all of his family and friends.
  8. I got sleeved on 3/7. Went out to dinner with a friend and I thought I was making a wise choice with egg drop soup. It was extremely hard getting it down. Didn't have much at all and it was painful. Seems like I got a lot of gas with it too. Needed to take 2 gas x strips. I guess I won't be having that again any time soon! Anyone else have this problem with egg drop soup?
  9. Robe, slippers, Chapstick, gas x strips, charger and saline nasal spray! Good luck!
  10. Hi girls! Yes I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm in room 20 if u want to take a walk sorry I missed u Jen. I'm doing ok. Kinda sore and my stomach feels like it spasms every time I put something in it.
  11. Ashley I'm so excited we finally got to meet and im glad that ur leak test went ok. I'm sipping on some broth right now and it's a bit painful
  12. It's done!! I'm sitting up having broth and trying to get my liquids in. I have a lot of soreness but the gas has gotten a lot better. The dry mouth is the worst and goes right up into my nose. I would advise bringing saline nose spray with u. Good luck to all our sleevers today and upcoming! We can do this!!!!
  13. On my way to the hospital now. Have to be there at 9:30 for 11:30 surgery. I can't believe it is here. So many emotions. The hardest thing to do was to say good bye to my babies today. Please keep me in ur thoughts and prayers!! Will check in as soon as I can to let u know how everything goes. Good luck to my fellow sleevers.
  14. Good luck to all our sleevers today! Prayers and hugs coming ur way! My big day is tomorrow. OMG I can't believe it's here already!!!!!!

  17. Good luck! Sending hugs and prayers you way!!
  18. I just started day 5 of my pre op diet and have been having headaches every day. I am on 3 shakes a day and a no carb small meal at night. So far i have been able to get all of my water in. Is this happening to anyone else?
  19. March 7th here! It's becoming so real now. Very excited but can't help being nervous!
  20. During my first week i can have one meal with 4 to 6 oz of lean protein and veggies. Salad with fat free dressing. My second week only shakes are allowed.
  21. I stuck with the chocolate. When is ur surgery date?
  22. Hi Carrie. I just started my 2 week diet today. I am being sleeved on March 7th. My dr required to use Optifast also. It cost me $200 for 10 boxes and I was told that I couldn't use an alternative. I was surprised especially since it only has 14g of protein. Some of the others that were less expensive had more protein and tasted better. Good luck!
  23. Hi Ashley. I work in White Plains and am getting sleeved on March 7 at Stamford hospital. Dr Davis is doing the surgery. How far along are you?
  24. Hi Emilee. I also have PCOS, infertility problems and am taking metformin. Also took phentermine for about a year. I lost about 40 lbs but unfortunately gained it all back once I was off the med. My BMI is 43 and I have Cigna. My surgery date is March 7. Hang in there...stay positive. If u want to chat, I'm here for you. :-)
  25. I heard from my surgeon's office and March 7 is my big day. The day after my birthday so "happy birthday to me!" I am so excited (and like most of us here) a bit scared as to what is to come but I know I am ready!!! I am 43 and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. Sure, I have dieted and have lost weight but only to gain it back plus more. Will I know how to be thin? I'm not sure but I think it's going to be fun trying. Thank you all for this wonderful forum. I have learned so much from all of you.
