  3. Progress Report Time! Just wanted to check in with all the Jan 21st sleevers (or anyone around that time) and see how everyone is doing. I'm not wanting to compare with others (I realize everyone is different); I'm just curious. I'm satisfied with my progress however slow or fast it may be. Age: 28 Ht: 5'2" Start of Journey (8/1/12): 276lbs Surgery Date (1/21/13): 243lbs Current (6/3/13): 200lbs

  5. Congrats on your life changing decision! I'm so glad that I made it! I have the energy I need to keep up with my 6 & 4 year old boys and I feel great. I was sleeved 1/21/13 and I am halfway to my goal, it is so exciting! My advice is to start exercising as soon as possible! Take advantage of the first 3 to 6 months, that is when people lose the most of their excess weight (from what I've read). I for one am trying to get into good habits now, so when the weight loss slows down I will not have to try to start working out. I am training for my first 5K, me the chubby girl training for a 5K...it is all so exciting!

  9. Hi CanadianChick, I also had surgery on 1/21/13, I am 5'1.5" (but I always round up to 5'2"). I am currently at 210, started at 276 (243 on day of surgery). My NUT said to strive to get in 60-80g of protein daily...which is hard for me to do with just food, but easy if I add a Protein Drink some where in my day (usually
  10. Highest weight (7/10/12) - 276 Surgery weight (1/21/13) - 243 Current weight (4/2/13) - 215 Fast or slow...I'm just glad I'm losing weight and feeling great!
  11. Congrats!! We were sleeved on the same day, and I am no where near that kind of loss post-op (only about 15lbs)! Great job! So, what exactly are you doing? I'm struggling to get in all my protein...maybe that's my problem.
  12. I had a similar situation, I didn't eat very many calories in a day (1,500 on a high day). My NUT actually had me eating more calories prior to surgery; the problem was not getting in nearly enough protein. Since I increased my protein intake I started to loose (still very slowly, but loss none the less). I started the program this past August weight 276, and on my surgery date (1/21/13) I weighed 243. So maybe try increasing your protein intake? Just my thoughts...you may have already tried, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Hope you figure it out!!

  15. Yeah, I have caught my kids stomach bug too...UGH! I am feeling pretty crappy, but hopefully it will turnaround quickly. I'm just trying to focus on getting all my liquids in. I'm hoping to get some more energy soon; having a stomach bug on top of surgery is not the best way to go.
  16. I'm 5'2" (technically 5'1.5" but who's counting), when I started the program in August I weighed 276, I had surgery Monday (Jan 21st) weighing 243, and I just weighed in at 236. There may be a discrepancy between the hospital scale and my home scale, so we'll see what the official numbers say on the 29th when I go in for my check up. I'm setting my goal at a healthy BMI weight of 136, so we'll so how it goes.

  20. I am seeing Dr. Edwards with Mercy/St. John's. It's nice to find people close the area! Have you been to any support groups? Mercy has one every 2nd Monday of the month (wasn't sure if Cox had one also).
  21. Hello everyone! I am near Springfield, MO, I am hoping to be scheduled for surgery in January. Looking forward to learning from everyone's experiences!
  22. I am a new member here, and am looking for some people to go through this journey with also. I do not have my official surgery date either, but I am hoping beginning to mid-January. Excited to start the year off right!
