  1. I'm not on the shortlist so it will be another year or two or more, I checked yesterday with the hospital and that's what they told me.
  2. Hi Everyone, I haven't been on in a while but I'm still on the waiting list for my lap band. It'll be my fourth year on the waiting list this year. I've gained 40kg since I went on the waiting list and now my GP has told me that my spine is compressed and he has written a letter stating that I urgently need it done but I still haven't heard from the hospital about an appointment with Dr Wilkinson. I guess I'm feeling a bit down about it all.
  3. Thanks Mark!! Sometimes it is hard to see that light, I've been on the waiting list for 3 years, When I went on the waiting list I was 139kg now I'm 160kg. And in that 3 years my marriage ended and I became a single mother, my ex husband started threatening me and I had to put a family violence order on him, which he breached countless times. I guess I'm whinging, I just feel a bit down and a year seems so far away. I know in reality it isn't but time seems to drag on when you are waiting impatiently as I am!! Thank you for your answers I really appreciate it!!
  4. Hi, I haven't been banded yet but I finally got private health insurance so if I get moved back on the waiting list I still only have to wait till May / June next year. I'm 160kg and I have a long road in front of me. I've just got a couple of silly questions, Is it painful when you just get out of surgery after you wake up to drink fluids ie hot tea? How much weight loss should be expected in the first year?
  5. :kiss Thank You all for your kind words! :kiss
  6. I'm in Australia and I'm a single mum of two energetic kids. the surgeon and I worked out that I'd need at least $12,000 to get the operation done. I'm looking into more extensive health cover but I'll still have to wait another year at least. Good Luck with your banding!!!
  7. 3 years ago I was 139kg and now I'm 157kg (about 330lbs) and rising. Thank You for making me feel welcome :biggrin1:
  8. Hi I'm from Tassie and I'm still waiting to be banded :cry I've been waiting for 3 years my weight back then was 139kg and now its 157kg and rising:eek: How long was every one else on waiting lists for?? I'm starting to lose hope.
