  1. If you weren't willing to follow your doctor's orders why would you have such a drastic surgery?? We aren't supposed to use straws because excess air will stretch our sleeves out. Why not go ahead and have a soda with that straw? You're kidding yourself if you think using a straw decreases the amount of air you take in.
  2. I'm at week four and have hit a stall. BUT I'm NOT letting it upset me! I know that I've done the right thing! We are in the middle of moving so my exercise time is limited. Once we are settled two weeks from now, I've already found a yoga studio and mapped out my walking route in the new neighborhood!
  3. It ain't fun! BUT it's def a learning moment! LOL!
  4. Yikes. It finally happened. I took the one bite too many and ended up throwing up. I KNEW when I ate the last bite when I was hurting I was making a mistake and I did it anyway. HUGE mistake. Lesson learned.
  5. I'm sitting here on three weeks worried that I'm able to hold more in my stomach than I should. I feel like I may be just worrying for nothing but that fear is still there.
  6. I don't like the search function. I use it but it links to the beginning of a thread and often I've had to sift through page after page of stuff before I find my answer. Now, I may be using it incorrectly.
  7. My NUT said I could have eggs on smushy part as long as they are smushed! Im LOVING them. Made egg salad & eating the scrambled. NOM NOM!
  8. poncagal- I had a scopalmine patch, phenergen cream, zofran and phenergen IV and still threw up. My and anesthesia don't mix apparently. I didn't know it was possible for a human to throw up that much with an empty stomach. It was terrible BUT once the nausea finally passed its been worth it.
  9. I agree with Sunshine. Stay off the scale! I had about two days where it didn't go down and one where it went UP! I made myself stop weighing here. Weighed at the MD today and am planning on weighing on Wednesday mornings only for now. I don't want the numbers to freak me out!
  10. I had my 2 week postop visit today AND got to start mushy stuff. Who knew egg salad was SO delicious! LOL! I also scrambled an egg for lunch and smooshed a wedge of Laughing Cow Light Swiss in it. Even yummier than the egg salad. But can barely finish an egg. It's crazy. I'm learning to listen to my body. I ate supper to fast tonight and OUCH! It felt like fast trapped in my ribs on both sides. Lesson learned! I go back to work tomorrow. NOT looking forward to it. I'm still getting tired super easy so I'm a little nervous. Glad everyone seems to be doing well! Has anyone started exercising yet? The doc said I could start and I'm gonna start tomorrow!
  11. I realized 98% of my "hunger" was in my head.
  12. I've yet to get all my protein in. Doing great with getting enough liquids though so I'm calling it a win! Actually made a road trip yesterday and drove myself home today. What's been an unpleasant dose of reality is the realization of just how much I actually ate simply because of stress or boredom. I'm mortified.
  13. The freezing had gotten better and so far no more watery stools. I have found that if I eat too fast I get a feeling that feels like I'm about to have bathroom issues! Crampy and gassy!
  14. Prettybird hope you're feeling better soon!
  15. It's helping so much knowing we are all feeling some of the same things & going through some of the same things! I'm feeling AMAZING except for getting tired easier but it's getting better! FINALLY found a premixed drink I like. Bolthouse Farms! Creamy and yummy!!
  16. Two new issues: my hands are FREEEEEZING!!!! I'm usually hot and now I'm COLD! Wasn't expecting that! And (maybe TMI) watery diarrhea....ugh!!! But otherwise doing great!
  17. Oh yeah! I'd compromise my ethics for a grilled cheese! BUT I know it's all in my head!! I've not been for real hungry at all. Extremely thirsty though. Still working on getting all the liquids in. Thank you Jello and popcicle inventors!!! Discovered the EAS shakes yesterday at Walmart. Liking them MUCH better than what in was drinking. Not as thick and don't leave a weird film in my mouth.
  18. What about nutrition info? I couldn't find it.
  19. Don't know if this is good advice or bad but a half a teaspoon of honey has warded of a couple of my blood sugar drops.
  20. Everyone seems to be feeling a lot of the same emotions. Helps that if we're crazy at least we aren't alone! I had a melt down over the Beyonce documentary in HBO this afternoon so I think it must just be an adjustment thing. I've been tearful all afternoon. LOL! Not sad, just tearful. Went to lunch with a friend- got soup. Came home rested and just got home from Walmart. So physically I think I'm doing great. I'm still needing a good bit of rest but I'm more upbeat than I was a few days ago! My heating pad is still my BFF though. I'm postop day 5 and I keep feeling better every day! MAKING myself drink everything I'm supposed to was the hardest part today! I
  21. prettybird- that's not very much at all!! I have a huge (20 oz) tumbler that I sip out of all day abd then refill and I eat popcicles. I'm close to getting my water in but I'm constantly sipping!
