  1. It depends on how much you're eating or not eating. Good nutrition is essential to normal body functions and healing. I would try to get at least 3 meals a day. You need your energy!
  2. This happened to me too. Actually, 3 of them opened! There were no signs of infection, so I let them heal on their own....it took two months and the scars are not pretty. Glad you got yours closed back up!
  3. Lucky!!!!!!! I don't have enough to cause problems, but more than enough to make my body look not so great! Good luck! Keep us updated!
  4. I want to do a mud run, it looks like so much fun!!!!! Congrats to you! You are doing great!
  5. How in the hell is this a medically induced eating disorder?!?! I'm over a year and a half out and I am able to eat a normal amount of calories for the day. This surgery has made it a hell of a lot easier to not exceed that! Does your friend realize that overeating is also an eating disorder?!?!
  6. Your friend is ignorant and selfish. Bottom line. As for you, you deserve better friends. Congratulations on taking control of YOUR life. I'm so happy for you. Be excited! Good luck with everything! Don't give the toxic people any more of your time and emotions.
  7. Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I wasn't prescribed one after being sleeved. Sorry!!!
  8. After I got sleeved, I suffered from heartburn so I've been on a PPI for a while. I looked up long-term effects of taking one and about a week and a half ago I started to wean myself off by taking an H2 blocker instead. Without the PPI I'm not as hungry and I get full faster. I'm not sure why the PPI would allow me to eat more or maybe the return of stomach acid is causing me to eat less. So the whole acid mistaken for hunger theory is not true for me. If you don't need it, don't start! You can get rebound reflux if you start taking the PPI.
  9. I was sleeved 5 days after you , lost 110 pounds the first 10 months and have gained 5 since then. I'm stuck at 190. Phentermine is very dangerous and only works temporarily. Other than that, it sounds like you're on the right track. I know I need to figure out my eating problems but I just don't have the courage to seek help. My problem is I've replaced binge eating with grazing. I've recognized this recently and struggle everyday to stop. I'd be interested to hear how therapy goes. Keep us updated and good luck!
  10. And tell them not to worry about what you're eating! Lol good luck!
  11. I agree with Kindle 100%! Enjoy the scenery and the company! Don't make food the center of everything and definitely don't regret your decision to get healthy!
  12. I recently got into yoga. It is such a stress reliever. I look up "30 minute yoga workouts" on YouTube. If I'm really stressed, I do a slow relaxing routine then just lay there with soothing music to clear my mind. It works everytime! Try it, see what you think. Good luck!
  13. I was talking about her friend's emotional eating and love for chocolate.
  14. The sleeve will absolutely not fix any of those problems either.
  15. I agree with the previous posters. Juicing waste so much of the fruit. It'd be better to make a smoothie with a blender if you're not big on eating fruits and vegetables. I like to use frozen berries, half of a frozen banana, Greek yogurt, kale or spinach, and chocolate protein powder. It taste like a chocolate shake!
  16. I never had acid reflux until I got the sleeve! Now it is so bad, I will probably be on a PPI for the rest of my life unless I convert to bypass which ain't happening! Your friend is making the right choice.
  17. I'm a little over a year and a half out and burping and stomach gurgles have become my new normal!
  18. Just keep on truckin' my friend. This feeling will pass. Just think about the future and all it will entail! A healthier you! How exciting that you get this opportunity! Think about all you've gone through already. It takes courage to change your life for the better. You got this just take a deep breath and enjoy the ride!
  19. STOP!!!! Now on to my personal experience. .. Grazing seems harmless in the beginning because we can eat so little. A bite here and there won't hurt, right? Well it became a habit for me. Seriously, I ate every 2 hours then my brain got used to this new ritual and stopping grazing seemed near impossible. Then at about 8 months post op, I could eat more in one sitting and then at a year, it seemed I could eat more than that! Now grazing could easily put me at 2000+ calories for the day. Over a six month period, I gained 5-7 pounds! Never reached goal. Now, I'm trying to lose the last 30 pounds and I've made it way hard on myself by developing this horrible habit! Don't do it!!!!
  20. Know that failure IS an option even with weight loss surgery. You have to keep your eyes on the prize your 5th week, 5th month, and 5th year! Start good eating habits now, choosing the right foods and stay away from grazing. Now is your do-over, treat it as your second chance at life. I can't stress enough how easy it is to fall back to old habits. Don't let that be you! You got this!
  21. Step away from the scale......get healthy......forget about a number that doesn't mean much. When you begin working out or upping the intensity, your body retains Water. Keep doing what you're doing and don't weigh yourself for 3 weeks. See what happens. Good luck!
  22. At 19 months out, healthy habits weighs in probably 80%. It's really easy to eat around the sleeve. Yea, I still have great restriction at one sitting but if i ate a cheeseburger and fries over 4 hours instead of 30 minutes. ....it really doesn't make a difference.
  23. Wow it's been a year already?! You look amazing! Congratulations!
