  1. Hi my name is Elizabeth and I have been on this site for a while now and have just found the UK forum. Thank goodness as the forum I had been looking at was very interesting with very interesting people but was based in America so was slightly different pre op & post op diets etc. I had the gastric band privately done in October 2008 and it was the worst £7000 spent in my whole life. I had problems from the beginning when I had my first fill and the only weight lost was due to my own perseverance. I continually told them there was something wrong but to cut a long story short my new surgeon discovered it had only been stitched at one side giving me an extra pouch that hung over my new stomach causing me to continually be sick etc. I am now waiting to hear next week when my band will revised to a sleeve and I am sooooo excited after reading all the positive views on this site. It would be good to hear from others in a similar position.
  2. Hi I have been reading your journey all day and have not even stopped for a coffee it was that interesting. I am so pleased to hear how natural a loss you had at a few pounds per week and also how interesting to hear about the different places you visited. I live quite a ordinary but wonderful life here in Scotland and will be finding out next Thursday 25 October when I will be sleeved and due to your very informative blog I am so looking forward to my journey. Thanks again Elizabeth
  3. I am so excited for you and February will be here before you know it. I will be finding out on the 25 October if I will be getting sleeve revision and I am soooo excited too. Keep us up to date with you progress and will look out for your comments in 2013. :-))))
  4. I cannot wait till I am 4 days from surgery. I will find out on 25 October when I will have a sleeve revision. Good luck and keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
  5. Thanks very much you have answered all my questions swimming about in my head. :-)))))
  6. Hi I had the gastric band put in on October 2008 privately and it has been a nightmare. I eventually went to my local GP who referred me to an NHS doctor in November 2011. It was discovered that I had only been stitched at the one side and it had slipped drastically and this was why I have all the pain and sickness etc. This Doctor unfolded me and two months ago have pain back and sickness as if I have a filled band. I am going to my Doctor in 3 weeks to discuss band coming out and a possible sleeve revision of which I have decided to go for and will be done sometime in November/December 2012. I have been looking at everyone's wonderful stories after having sleeve surgery. Thanks Elizabeth
