  2. Has anyone had this problem?
  3. I'm up 6.5 lbs since I went in the hospital from all the fluids they pumped in to me. Talk about a lot of fluid
  4. I also had my surgery done on Monday and post op day 1 was the worst. Insane nausea. One day latter I'm fine.
  5. Thought I would be more nervous... But I'm doing ok. Good luck to all who are having surgery today. God bless.
  6. In tomorrow @ 745! Best wishes to you! And keep in touch
  7. Oops, typo I'm on the 10th
  8. I'm tomorrow too! I think the "pre-freak out" is normal. I'm a little anxious myself.
  9. Two more days for the December 13th folks!!!
  10. I'm am scheduled the 10th as well!
  11. Best of luck! We are getting ready to brace ourselves here for hurricane sandy!
  12. Honestly I have only seen one complication, and it was a leak. But she wasn't done at the hospital I work at. The hospital I work @ is a Bariatic center of excellence. They do about 100 surgeries a month.
  13. I am signing into the hospital under a AKA. None of my colleges know I'm having it done!
  14. Ugh i hear u, I am an NP and I am scheduled for the 10 of dec. I work in as a Hospitalist NP and having surgery at the hospital I work at. I am scared out of my mind as well! But, no guts no glory!
  15. Seems so far away and so close at the same time. Not looking forward to the holidays because my husbands family is Italian and everything is food oriented. AND I have chose not to tell them about the surgery which is causing a little more anxiety as well.
  16. Abby who did your sleeve. I am in Utica
  17. I have not had surgery yet. I had a consultation with the surgeon and will be returning on October 16 to let him know my decision on which type of WLS I would like. I have decided to go with the sleeve after reading about it.
  18. I too considered the band when I was thinking about WLS. I am a nurse practitioner so I hit the research journals and studies have shown that there is a statically high failure rate with the lap band. In fact in Europe, the band is pretty much being abandoned because of the high rate of failure. This past year at the Bariatic Surgeon conference more and more surgeons are moving toward the sleeve procedure. It is a personal and individual choice. Good luck to you in making an informed decision.
  19. I of course have told my husband but don't feel the need to share with others
  20. Just wondering if anyone has had surgery and not told their family or friends?
