  1. The picture on the left is my "before" picture at 296 pounds, my highest weight pre-op at the beginning of this past November. My surgery was November 19, 2012. The picture on the right was taken yesterday 2/3/12 with me weighing in at 220 pounds. In less than three months, I am starting to see a lot of physical changes! Woo-Hoo. I still have a long way to go before meeting my goal weight of 150 pounds, but I thought this was an appropriate time to share my "progress pictures."
  2. Congrats! Please let me know when u reach your half way mark, we'll celebrate together. Why don't u plan on doing something nice for yourself to celebrate half way?!
  3. PROUD GRAMMY: Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. I feel like a whole new person, yesterday I even dyed my hair blonde to Celebrate my "so-far" success. I will have to figure out something really exciting to do to celebrate goal weight. I always love reading your posts because you are so kind and always positive. Congratulations on all of your success!
  4. Wow, you look absolutely amazing. What an inspiration you are to all of us!!! Congratulations on your success!!!!
  5. Just wanted to share my early morning excitement because at this morning's weigh-in I am 223. That's a total of 73 pounds lost (highest weight-296) and 73 more pounds to lose before I hit my goal of 150!!! I'm half way there. Surgery date was November 19th 2012.
  6. I'm a Happily sleeved registered nurse from NJ. I currently work in med-surg and pediatrics at a small community hospital. I set a lot of career and weight loss goals for myself to accomplish over this year of 2013. I'm hoping to be able to find a job in an ER soon, it's something I've been interested in for a while!!
  7. Hi fellow November sleevers! It's awesome to share such a wonderful bond with each one of you. It sounds like everyone is doing great and working really hard, congratulations! As for me, I couldn't be happier. I started my journey at 296 pounds on the date of my pre-op diet, November 4th. Date of surgery was November 19th. Since november 4th, I have lost 71 pounds! I am currently at 225 pounds, the first time I've weighed this in a long time. With a goal weight of 150, I still have a lot of work to go. I've been doing spinning classes at a local gym and have been LOVING THEM. Basically, life is good
  8. Hi Laura! I'm Megan, also 23, would be happy to support you via this website. I am post-op. My surgery date was a little over 2 months ago, November 19th! I started my pre-op diet on November 4th (2 weeks of protein shakes) and since that date I have lost 71 pounds. Having this surgery was the single BEST thing I have ever done for myself. What can I do to provide you support? Are you pre-op or post-op? Let me know what I can do!
  9. Myfitnesspal name is nursemeg89 add me
  10. I just wanted to share my love for spinning classes and see if anyone else here is also a fan?! I was sleeved on November 19th 2012 and just recently got my fitness and exercise regimen going! I go to spinning classes about 3 times a week at the gym I joined and I LOVE THEM. I come out exhausted, drenched in sweat, and feeling SO ACCOMPLISHED! I love the music and the fun during the classes, we even have special days when a live DJ spins music during classes! I've lost about 70 pounds since I started my pre-op diet November 4th, 2012. Highest weight was 296 and current weight 226. Goal weight- 150, I'm hoping spinning helps me meet that goal!!!!
  11. I am so impressed with everyones stats! Go sleevers!!!! date of surgery November 19th, 2012. My losing started during my pre-op diet, november 4th.... *starting weight- 296. Size 22 pants, XXL tops *current weight- 230. Size large tops, some XL. 16-18 pants. *goal weight- 150!! I believe will yeild me approx sizes 8 pants and medium tops
  12. Awesome! Our weight loss is so close, it's amazing!!!
  13. Fellow November 19th sleeves...where is everyone at 2 months post-op? I've lost 65 pounds total!!!
  14. It sounds like everyone is doing really awesome. To answer your vitamin question- I take 1 multivitamin twice a day and 1 500mg calcium citrate three times a day when I'm behaving myself. They are all chewable, and are bariatric advantage brand.
  15. Hey nov 19th girls! How is everyone making out?!? I hope well. I am doing really well and am so so happy that I made this excellent, life-changing decision. Those first couple days post-op, i had my doubts. However, to get on the scale and LOSE weight every time instead of gaining- it is truly a dream come true to me. My highest weight was 296 on november 4th, right before I started my pre-op diet. Today I weighed in at 251. This is the lightest I've been in a while and cant wait to continue to lose. My goal by my 24th bday on June 11th is to be in one-derland! Even 199 will do looking forward to the 6-week post op mark where my surgeon has cleared me to hit the gym for some spinning classes! Ladies- please share where u are and any upcoming goals or other fun things with me
  16. Sarah- how are you doing? You have definately been on my mind! Please update. How is everyone else doing who was sleeved the 19th? I am curious to see how everyone is progressing! As for me, I've been constantly struggling to battle nausea. While awake, I am constantly nauseous. Yesterday, I only got 15 oz of Fluid in and threw up 3 times. I don't have a temp, just the most upset stomach I've ever endured in my life. I contacted my doc, he called in a second med for me to try and get my nausea under control. Today, if i don't improve he wants me back in the hospital
  17. Sarah- I am so sorry that you required a revision. You are most definately in my thoughts and prayers. Please take it easy, get the rest that your body needs and keep us updated. xo
  18. Hope everyone made out okay. I've had a really Hard time yesterday and today- been non-stop nauseous since surgery. Dry heaving. Gas pains. What have I done
  19. My surgery is at 10 am tomorrow, November 19th. I am in absolute shock/disbelief that the day has finally come! I have some nerves, but more than anything I'm just ready to wake up and start my recovery!! Best wishes to anyone else scheduled for tomorrow
  20. I'll try to tell you what is going to go in my bag and see If that helps you at all. It is 2am, so guys if I miss something important help me out and add it to the forum! Hospital bag goodies: -robe (your nurses will definately want you up and walking to prevent blood clot formation) -slippers with soles (good for the walking, yet again) -hairbrush (the hospital ones are terrible) -Chapstick!!!!!!!!! -toothbrush and toothpaste (hospitals have them but they're not very nice usually) -I'm bringing my own pillow and blanket from home for comfort. The hospital pillows are usually "plastic" so they can be cleansed and reused and that just isn't comfortable.....also your favorite blanket from home is just way more inviting! -phone charger (you know a million people will be checking on your progress!) -Comfortable clothes to go home in the next day (a lot of people just wear the same ones that they wore to the hospital before surgery since they're only on for a short period of time) -a little compact mirror so I can quickly check that i am looking decent for visitors Another tip- dont overpack! You will be exhausted from surgery/anesthesia/pain meds- so think comfort items! Hospitals will have some supplies that you'll need...ask them for a "hug-me" pillow, they'll provide you with plenty of mouth swabs so that you can wet (and not swallow, lol) your oral cavity because you will be very dry after anesthesia. I wish a safe surgery and speedy recovery!!! Can you all believe our day is tomorrow?!?!?
  21. So glad to hear from another November 19th sleeve sister! A ten pound loss is great congrats. Can't wait to hear more from you post-op!!!!
  22. You go girl, 3 pound loss in a day is great! I am feeling great! As I posted in some other forums, I really struggled with the first couple days of my 15 day pre-op diet. I was downright miserable! But, November 4th (the first day of the diet) seems so long ago now! I just stepped on the scale and I've lost 20 pounds on my pre-op diet!!!!!!! I am so excited, that is more than I ever hoped for. I bought a journal last night for myself because I always want to remember everything about this experience, because I know it's going to help me feel like the vibrant active 23 year old I should be Let me know what it's like in Mexico. How long will your flight be? Btw, I live in NJ, USA and it Is my ultimate life dream to travel to Ireland. Keep in touch, let's support each other through this transition
  23. Hi sarah! So excited for us that surgery is so close now. Don't take ANY medication unless approved by your doctor. They tell you to stop taking aspirin before surgery related to the risk of increased bleeding because aspirin has an anti-coagulating effect to blood. Take this instruction seriously. I think your best bet will be to stay as active as possible in your time post-op and to ask your surgeon for tips before your flight home. Are You at all anxious about surgery? I truly commend you for going to Mexico for surgery because that "unknown" factor must be challenging. Its really impressive to see someone want something so badly that they work so hard to make it happen, even in a different country. You go girl! We just have a couple days left now cant wait to hear how you make out!
  24. Hi all! I was hoping that anyone scheduled for surgery this coming Monday, November 19th could check in here so we could form a support system during our last few days pre-op. I can't believe our "new lives" will be starting in just 4 days! I have been so busy with last minute doctor appointments and work this week that I haven't even had time to be nervous- I just feel overwhelmingly excited! Today at 12:30 I have my last surgery related appointment- medical clearance from my PCP. I don't anticipate any issues here! Im a nurse so I've been completely paranoid this week that I am going to get sick, but so far I'm feeling healthy. Just two more 12-hour shifts before my big day My surgery is scheduled this Monday for 8:30 am, i have an anticipated one night hospital stay post-op so I should be leaving in the evening on November 20th. What kind of emotions are you experiencing now with surgery date being so close? Do you have any last min. Questions/concerns? is your hospital bag packed and ready to go?!? Can't wait to hear from everyone
