  2. I'm scheduled for tomorrow at noon. A little nervous - okay alot nervous. Vomited this morning from nerves but feeling better now. I was home all last week because of the hurricane - that made keeping to the liquids a lot harder. I also quit smoking. I have been drinking Atkins shakes, but need to get protein powder (I think). the post op instructions from the hospital are not written very well. Very confusing.

  4. I am November 6th. Did my pre-op liquid diet, but cheated a little bit. Only lost about 4 lbs on liquid. Hope it's enough. Yep, getting a little nervous. And we are expecting another nor'easter here in the NYC area on Wednesday!
  5. Surgery date is November 6th (Election Day)!! Now just have to wait for insurance approval.

  7. The reason not to tell anyone??? The best reason is that it's none of their business. Your life, your surgery, your business. I told my husband and sister and they are ULTRA supportive. Told a few at work (including my boss) and they are behind me 100%. Sorry if I sound a little militant, but don't let the nay-sayers get to you!
  8. Don't get nervous. In my psych eval, the doctor talked about himself 90% of the time! Mostly they want to know if you are capable of understanding what the surgery is going to do to you and if you're sane enough to be able to follow the pre- and post-op instructions.
