red puffy incisions?
Give it time... The itch went away in 3 days... The redness will take longer... As long as there is no discharge or you are not having a fever you should be ok

red puffy incisions?
I had the same.... Its an allergic reaction to the tape or glue... Talk to your surgeon. My Dr. Had me remove the tape and use a Cortisione Cream to help the itchy feeling. It got better within 3 days.

Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
I was sleeved on Nov 12th... And have lost 25 pds... I weighted 240 the day of surgery, 215 now. My highest was 310 so I have come a long way When I had my surgery I was at a weightloss stall... During the first two weeks I quickly lost 20... And since then only 5 :/ I was stuck on a stall again... But slowly I've dropped a pound here and there. I am really trying to drink water and I just started working out but I am sooooo weak. Eventhough I feel that am not lossing fast enough in terms of pounds... I do think inches are coming off... I can see and feel the difference. Compliments are an ego boost too

Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
Thanks for the replies... I am following the binder that I was given to me at Kaiser... I am 24 days post-op. I average under 350 calories per day... With a minimum of 25-30 grams of Protein. Today I ate the following: B: 5oz Protein shake L: 2oz Tuna salad D: 5 Med. Shrimp Snack: 5 oz Protein Shake Plus I drank 1-16oz Water bottle... I know that's bad but I don't crave fluids :/ Loss 20 the first 2 weeks... But no weightloss in these last 2 weeks I month post-op appt will be on Dec 12th... I hope to get some answers then!!!???

Slow Weight Loss
I'm soooo glad I found this thread!!! I was sleeved on Nov 12th... My start weight was 240. The 1st & 2nd week I lost 10pds per week, but since 0. I am sooooooo frustrated! I am stalled at 220 :/ I am strictly following my surgeons diet... 4 small meals a day - example: B: 5oz Protein shake L: Low Fat cheese Stick D: 2oz. Tuna / Salmon or 4 Shrimp Snack: 1/2 Greek Yogurt As for Water :/ I am doing horrible... I just don't crave drinking fluids. If I'm lucky I can drink 1-1 1/2 (16 oz.) water bottle. What is everyone else eating??? Its crazy how every Dr/Office/Facility has different guidelines... I wish our diets were universally the same!!!

Kaiser Northern Ca?
FYI: from start to finish it took me 5months to get sleeved... Each Kaiser will do things a little differently... My journey: My PCP referred me for surgery I attended a WLS class I met with a Dietician Had a Mammogram & Pap Had Psych consult Another day I did a Psych evaluation/testing... Since I passed I didn't have to do more classes (ex. MINDFUL EATING) Had orientation at the Bariatrics Dept. A few weeks later I met with my surgeon... Was given a weightloss goal (10 pds.) I was only given a few pds. Because I had lost approx 60 pds on my own over the last year. Next was a pre-op history & physical... But since I live 2 hrs away my surgeon was nice enough to do it the same day. I also walked out with a surgery date one month away. After that once I lost the 10 pds., I made sure that the Health Services Dept. documented it... And I made sure not to gain!!! Next were labs and a week later an appt with my PCP for medical clearance 7 days before surgery I did a routine pregnancy test And Lastly... I had to confirm weight on the day of surgery... I must meet my goal weight or surgery would be canceled as per the surgeon. That was my journey! Good Luck O:-)<

Kaiser Northern Ca?
I have Kaiser... And since I live in the Central Valley I had a choice of: Fremont Sacramento or Fresno I chose Frenso and was sleeved Nov 12th Re: the weight rule - Kaiser will go off your highest weight within a year... So make sure you get it documented with your PCP or Health Services Dept. Once it's logged you can diet & exercise.

How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
With all do respect... I believe to each it's own. We will each deal with things in life "Our own way!" Those of us who prefer to have WLS and keep the details private know our reasonings... And I can assure you it's not because we are pathological liars! Not all of us are blessed with supportive family and friends. Some people are a bit close-minded and judgmental... And in fact quite insensitive to others. In my husbands family an aunt had WLS- Gastric Bypass... She started at 310... And is now 200. WHICH I BELIEVE IS GOOD!!! However if you listen to "table talk"... sadly from the family... They say that she still looks fat! Just because they all have never struggled with being "morbidy obese"... WLS don't always make us stick thin. In fact... I'm ok with being a petiter me at the end of my journey. Much like his aunt I too am very "pear-shaped." And will never look like others who are shaped differently. I've always been the fat one especially around my husbands family, and because of this I always feel insecure! Weither I am right or wrong... I rather have people/family/friends believe that I succeeded at a diet... Than to deal with crap because in their eyes I failed at WLS. I'm a private person in-general... AND THIS IS HOW "I" and many ours choose to deal with our WLS! TO EACH IT'S OWN!!!!

How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
Ok everyone... I survived!!! LOL I had to say a few white-lies... but it went well! Best part is... Eventhough I'm only 3 weeks post-op... down 20 since my surgery... plus 15 from my pre-op diet... a few relatives noticed the weight loss and it was nice to hear compliments so soon! I had a blast... I was soooo nervous... but it went well! Too well, because when the music started playing I couldn't resist to dance... 3 songs and it was time to sit down... cuz my body reminded me that I'm post-op - I had pain on my left side :/ but not enough to ruin my nite. Thanks Everyone <3

How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
I will try... I wasn't going to tell them anything... but 2 days after surgery... my inlaws came to visit... so I lied!!! My mother-inlaw... God Bless her wanted to make me chicken Soup etc... I know she will be eyeballing today - out of concern. I do look thinner 20+ pds down... it really shows in my face :/ Which makes me look sickling cuz my face isn't very big... I guess I'll try to fake it!!!!

How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
LOL Well I'm 3 weeks+ post-op.... Today I have to attend a family gathering... an all-nighter. The kicker us that I lied to them and said that my appendix was removed :/ I want to keep my WLS private... I've only told a handful of trustworthy people... Husband... my kids ( 17 &15) Mom & Dad. I will be visiting my husbands family- A big Mexican family... and as always the food will be abundant!!! How do I fake it at lunch... dinner and Cake time. The pre-op me would be all over that food! When I eat a cheese stick for lunch... 1 scrambled egg for dinner and 1/2 a sugar free popsicle for dessert - It's gonna be soooo obvious!!! No cake for me is unheard of!!! Lol
