You can by pass your pcp and talk directly to the surgeon maybe ? I mean of you don't qualify they won't do it so obviously if you qualify you are justified in thinking you need it . I never saw my pcp about it I just got my medical records and made an appointment with the bariatric center and I barely qualify BMI 36 but I have high bp and diabetes too , diabetes is one of the main reasons I am doing this , looking good again is a perk too

I'm fairly young to and could probably do the same thing but I am tired of the yo yo and I know I would yo yo the rest of my life . Your pcp is not living your life , I guess I am alittle jaded bc I am a nurse and have worked with too many idiotic doctors , but if my pcp told me she didnt think I should I wouldn't really care , I think you should do what you feel is right , maybe see a different dr ?

Our whole healthcare system is so jacks up , they really should cover it for people that need it , it would save them alot of money in the long run

I went to nutrition class today and looked around ... I am alot smaller than most of the people in there , makes me second guess myself . I am 5'4 and weigh 223 BMI 36 , i also have diabetes type two newly diagnosed .. I need this ! But i still wrestle with feelings like am i doing the right thing ? I know I am . I have been over or close to 200 pounds my entire adult life , I'm sick of living life sitting on the sidelines

Congrats on it going so well !!! You aren't too far from me i am in east tx .. I have my surgery on 10-9 and I am pretty scared about the whole thing.. Reading post like this helps !!

I'm back on for 10-9 to have surgery !! Woohoo ... And now im super nervous again lol

Oh wow , I'm worried that the antibiotics won't get rid of mine either , are they going to try and treat you again ? Thanks for sharing , it good to know that surgery can be done with or without H Pylori present ... I'm not sure what my surgeons policy is on though . What did they give you ?

So strange you all seem to have the same experience ... Wonder why I am retesting and why if positive again my surgery will be delayed further

I am taking two weeks of antibiotics then wait two weeks and retest , I don't think they will do the surgery on me untill it's gone .
