3. There was no mention of a 3 month wait period for me. He said as soon as I get my apporval we can schedule the surgery. I hope that isn't somthing they are going to wait until the last minute to tell me.
4. Wow that is great! I'm glad to hear you are doing so well! Everyone I have spoken to with BCBS is very nice as well. I'm hoping that everythng will just fly by because i meet all the pre-determination requirements and i am doing the Dietician & Counselor stuff...I am just being impatient! I know I need to wait! lol... Now they did tell me that just this past May they dropped a 6 month waiting period requirement, which will work out well for me since I loose my insurance in April 2013. I turn 26 and will no longer be covered on my parents plan. Keep me posted on your progress!!!
5. Did they give a specific reason for denail?
6. Im hoping that things will go pretty quickly. My BCBS of Texas is provided through HEB so Im hoping for the best. But from what I have heard, I shouldn' have too hard of a time getting approved. *fingers crossed*
7. In the preliminary process of being submitted for approval...totally nervous! Anyone have previous experience with BCBS of Texas??
8. Totally! I love it
9. It was totally inexpensive...I only paid about 12 bucks for the brush and the lotion altogether.
10. Wally Martinez! Which is the South Texas way to say Wal-mart! Lol
11. Just bought a skin brush!! I love it already! Also using St. Ives Skin Renewing Collagen Elastin lotion. Hope it works well! Makes my skin feel soft and it smells great!
12. Love the candid conversation about rediscovering ones private parts! It's nice for it's all to know we are not alone and that others real with the same issues...not to mention it's just down right hilarious!
13. I'm gonna have to check those websites out !
14. That's fantastic! I'm just looking forward to being more active as the weight comes off. I've got psoriatic arthritis and it really effects my feet and ankles, but I've also got all this weight making me heavier and that causes a good deal of pain as well as a lack of mobility. Anyone have any thoughts on circuit training? one if the local gyms here provides the employees at my hotel with free memberships in exchange for free nights when they need them...it's really great!
15. Guess I'm gonna have to try it out! thanks yall!
16. Thanks again for all the feedback everyone. To answer that question: I am in the Corpus Christi area. Where in the RGV are you? I have friends in the Weslaco, Harlingen, San Benito, & Edinburgh areas. We do a lot of church events in those areas. I love South Texas!
17. Awesome. Thanks so much for the feedback yall. I haven't been approved yet, that will happen (hopefully) sometime in October and then we will schedule the procedure directly after. I never really considered wls until about a month ago when my parents (I'm on their insurance until April) Sat me down and told me how worried they are about me in terms of my health as well as the way I feel about myself...anyway, I just had my first appointment Wednesday and he's already taking about scheduling the procedure before the end of the year. It is just a tiny bit overwhelming, but I'm not gonna pass up the opportunity! Thanks again for the feedback - Liz
18. Attention all you wonderful post-OP folks! This Lil pre-OP girl keeps hearing about really great experiences that people have throughout this whole journey and that's totally great and I hope my experience is that wonderful! Then I hear stories of those that a have had bit of a tough time and I think that I'm willing to except the bag that comes with the good.I believe the payoff will be with it. Then there ones that have horror stories that would make Freddy Krueger cringe...and this just terrifies me! I keep hearing people saying how they totally regret doing it and wish they could take it all back. What I really want to know is, hope common is it for people to experience these absolute tortuous results? I know everyone's body is different and can handle things differently, I just don't want to do something that will, make me miserable! need some reassurance!
19. I teach Sunday School and our decoration theme is "games" and the theme of our whole unit is "choices" encouraging the kids to make good choices because the choices we make have long lasting effects. I also think this can and does apply for us! plus,I just think it's cute. Lol
20. I'm just outside of Corpus Christi, in Ingleside. I'm waiting on approval with Dr. McDaniel.
21. Any sleevers in the South Texas area? Would love to make some connections with local people that have been sleeved.
22. Thanks for all the feedback! Just wanting to hear what had worked for others so that I can try to get a routine tailor made for me. All info and comments are greatly appreciated, even those of the Preachy, Judgmental, Bullying variety. Lol! There are two sides to every coin!
23. Sorry that is supposed to say "not" under the illusion. Lol....doggone predictive text!
24. Which exercises are the best to build muscle mass and help reduce the amount of excess skin? I am bit under the illusion that there will be zero excess skin and I know that there are several factors in the amount of excess skin you have and how well it recovers...would like to hear some things that have worked for others. Thanks
