  1. My doctor's insurance coordinator emailed me and said it will be another two weeks until we hear from the insurance company. She had to appeal due to my BMI for the past three years being from 38 to 41. All you experienced sleevers, is this the point where I start calling my insurance company everyday? I have documentation for 7 years worth of failed dieting efforts with none of the comorbidities they consider, however, I do have degenerative disc disease and bulging discs as well as planters fasciitis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Has anyone else been approved with these types of issues on an appeal? I guess I just need an encouraging word right now!
  2. Congratulations valdostaGA!!! Hope you are feeling well!
  3. Nope! I'm still playing the waiting game too! I hope we all get good news soon!
  4. Glad you're here! This really has been the best resource for information. I watched the posts for about 6 months before finally joining. I too have just finished my insurance hoop jumping and am waiting to get approval and set that date.
  5. Carolc, thank you so much for your encouraging post! I am pre-op and started my liquids today. Hunger wasn't an issue but I have a terrible headache tonight. Your words were just the motivation I needed to remember this is temporary and great things are ahead! Thank you again for your positive words!
  6. I also have BCBS Alabama. Submitted to insurance today. BMI 42, not for three years though. Three year history show BMI from 38-42. Mainly thanks to dieting. I will let you know their response as soon as I hear.
  7. Hello all! I have been lurking on this site for months now learning a lot of great information and trying to figure out where the right place would be to introduce myself. I have decided that I will put my first post here, as my story is just beginning. I am finishing up my 7th month of doctor monitored weight loss plan and will be submitting to insurance the first week in October. I have spent years yo-yoing and am very confident that the sleeve will be a great tool to help me with permanent weight loss. I want to say thank you so much to each member who has shared their experiences. It has helped me learn so much about this process!
