  1. UHC united healthcare with optimum bariatric resources.
  2. I am not sure if that is the case with everyone. My best friend was denied because she had one month below the required BMI. So be be careful. She had gone through a lot to get approved since then. Ended up having to redo her 6 month diet. And all pre op testing.
  3. Whatever phase recycled is on....boy somebody is a crab apple!!!
  4. Somebody pissed in somebodies Cheerios...
  5. You can use ur Protein (chocolate or vanilla ) add instant coffee, a Lil milk, ice, your favorite SF syrup and blend.
  6. Some of those coffee drinks can have 600 to 800 cals. I would try chike, click, or fit frappe brand protein. They all have a cappuccino or latte flavor protein. Pretty yummy!!! Can be mixed cold or iced. And they have the protein you need.
  7. I am having surgery in ocean springs @ Singing River Hospital with Dr. Avara through South Ms Surgical Weight Loss center. They are awesome!!!!
  8. Bypass has the foul smells not sleeve. Many people with gastric bypass surgery claim that the gas not only builds up, but that it slips out of the body without control. This type of reaction may be embarrassing but it is a lot better than pain that distention can cause from built up gas. Gastric bypass surgery does two things. It makes the stomach smaller, frequently the size of a walnut, and it removes a portion of the intestines so that the food goes through undigested. REALLY ROTTEN If the quality of air around you would not pass the clean air test, it may be for several reasons. The first is the missing intestines. Gastric bypass surgery may push food through the intestines without digesting it. This is because the surgery removed a portion of intestine. This is a part of the digestive system also. The food then moves on not digested and begins to decompose in the lower intestine. Decomposition causes gas to form. Gas forms and has to go somewhere.
  9. Hope the op is doing well with her journey!!!!
  10. Some doc's choose to do endo over upper GI. Endoscopy actually shows a lot more. And some docs if the upper gi is abnormal the send you for an endoscopy for clear visualization.
  11. How was your surgery and overall experience with Dr. Avara? He is my surgeon also. I am still pre op. I almost done with the hoop jumping...then surgery at the end of sept.
  12. You look so good!!! Younger and so much happier!!!
  13. Yeah you get to the point where you feel like your floating. I would check your bp. And of course follow up with your doctor. If you find it's low you may wanna add a Little salt to you diet and I mean a little because a little goes a long way. The increased sodium will keep the Fluid in in the vascular space and increase your bp. But again follow up with the dr and run all this by them. Hope your feeling better soon.
  14. I have the 6 month supervised diet also. It depends on your wgt at the initial visit and what ur insurance and surgeon requires. If your BMI is high some may require you to lose a certain amount of percentage of your wgt. My BMI I right on the line so I have not actually had to lose any wgt. Just maintain my wgt and learn new healthy habits. Had visits with my Surgeons PA every month and his Nutritionist. If you use your PCP for this they will monitor your wgt and BMI for the 6 months and make notes in your chart on your diet and exercise. The main thing is find out exactly what your insurance requires. If you actually have to do a diet mine suggested 1400 cals low carbs/high Protein. Eat protein and fruits and veggies. Healthy carbs only. They want you to stop all Soda's and calorie filled beverages. Increase Water and sugar free drinks. Learn to eat slowly. Increase daily activity. Begin a Multivitamin and Calcium. Those were my instructions.
