  1. 2 weeks out and I'm still letting em rip. Not smelly though. I've never farted so much in my life! Have Small burps when I eat which I don't think anyone would notice.
  2. Nup. You broke up for a reason. Remember that and leave him where he belongs - in your past.
  3. Dont the Mexican surgeons fit patients with compression stockings?? We put them on before surgery and wear them about 3/4 days afterwards in Aus
  4. It would be strange to NOT be nervous! Voluntarily removing most of an organ is a big deal. I was nervous, it was all I thought about for months before. It consumed me. Then I drove myself to the hospital and found I was strangely calm. I was completely at ease with my decision. Recovery sucked, but a couple of shitty days is a drop in the ocean for a healthier 50 or so years. It took one week for me to feel a bit more normal, and each day gets better! I'm dropping weight, in the next few days I'll start exercising. I sleep better and wake refreshed - and that's only 2 weeks out. VSG is a big deal - but so far it's paying off I feel so much better. Hang in there
  5. Lol I discovered that my pockets had enough room to actually put things in. All this time I thought they were for decoration
  6. I also like plain water. I cannot tolerate "sweet."
  7. Wow! That's fantastic! I've lost 18lbs
  8. Also, when you start pureed fish or mashed eggs, make them as moist as possible. I add a little mayo or greek yogurt. Helps a lot
  9. I've been on mushies since day 4. First few days are uncomfortable, but it's much easier now.
  10. Oh that's good to hear! My trousers are sagging around my legs and bum, but I can't go a smaller size because of my stomach.
  11. And then today it's pretty good again. Go figure huh
  12. I am one week post op. I can manage 1/2 an egg, or if I'm using different foods - about 4 teaspoons is max. It takes me at least 1/2 an hour to finish
  13. Get someone to hide them I am at this very moment fighting the urge, trying to hold off until next week
  14. Hi everyone just wondering if anyone else is still getting quite sharp shoulder pain? A couple of days ago I woke up and it was completely gone. The next day BAM! It's back

Oops - have you been sleeved yet?
  16. ozeedonkee replied to cedars86's topic in The Gals' Room
Pre-sleeve I could eat ridiculous amounts of foods (pre-menstrual). In a week or so I'll be taking notice of how I feel. But there's no way we can eat what we used to, so a protein snack will probably satisfy. And I expect that now I have not been eating sugary/sweet foods, stable blood sugar levels will help.
  17. Tonight I pureed some roast beef and moistened with tomato sauce. It was good I also added a bit of corn dip to an egg and mashed it. Trying to mix it up a bit and not get bored. But I am loving plain cottage cheese.... Straaange
  18. 5 incisions - internally sutured.
  19. And yes, it can be bad if left untreated If you develop a temperature and/or vomitting go straight to hospital.
  20. It's treated with oral antibiotics. So keep that doctors appt tomorrow It can just be caused by bacteria on the skin, or sometimes the bugs are picked up in hospital.
  21. Cellulitis is an infection in the layers under the skin. It will start looking red and inflamed, and if you feel around the area, you can feel a hardness under the skin. Sometimes it will pus - might look like a tiny pin prick white head, but has a surprising amount of pus under it. Or sometimes the skin will look angry and pitted.
  22. 2 days clear fluids 3rd day full liquids 4th day purée Week 4 soft foods Week 6-8 Normal as tolerated
  23. I mentioned to my husband that my son and I took a nap together yesterday because I was getting very tired and his response was "surgery was a week ago!" presumably I should now be up to doing a marathon or something.... But I am the same. I get quite tired. So I rest. But each day is getting better
