  1. Has anyone tried Biotin (in the toothpaste/mouthwash section I think). I was taking it because of some medicine I was taking, and it helped.
  2. Ok, that's cool. Didn't realize it was a counseling thing, too. Kinda makes sense when you look at it that way.
  3. Why do the ins. Companies do that? Are they hoping it will discourage people from the surgery? Because once its approved you get a pre-op diet anyway, right? And isn't that the purpose of the surgery?
  4. Does everyone have to do a six month diet, or is it certain insurance companies that require it? What about BCBS? Anybody know? Thanks!
  5. If all goes well it will be at Des Peres in St. Louis
  6. I'm from southern Illinois, but I've just started the process. Still waiting on insurance. Have you had it done yet?
  7. To all those post- op 1 year: I was wondering how your lives have changed, in two ways. 1) is it a totally different life style? Do you go out to eat and just eat less, or totally avoid it? Do you eat differently from the rest of the family? Can you do everything physically that you did before? Has your life changed drastically in any way? 2) how has your life changed mentally? Of course, the obvious, looking and feeling better. Anything else? Has it been worth it? Just wondering. Thanks!
  8. Thanks! Hope that works for me!
  9. Thanks everyone. I definitely will tell my surgeon, and ask to speak to the anesthesiologist . This really does scare me.
  10. Hi, I'm new here and posted this on another thread, but it didn't get a response so I thought I'd post it as a new thread. Just started the process, but have a big worry. It seems like I have a hard time waking up from anesthesia (I was once the first patient in and last one out of recovery and the doc asked my husband if this was normal for me). Does this happen to anyone else, and is this something to worry about? Thanks!
  11. Hi I'm new here, and have just started the process (met surgeon, got insurance stuff started). I am really worried about the anesthesia. The last time I had surgery I wouldn't wake up the surgeon came out and asked my husband if I always took this long to wake up. I was the first patient in and the last patient out. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks
