  1. I am almost 4 months out and am down 27 lbs!! My first 5 weeks I lost 19 lbs, 2nd month- 5 lbs, 3rd-3 lbs. Ugh.... I'm so frustrated. I am okay with losing it slowly, I guess, if I know that I will actually get there. I am scared to death that it is just gonna stop completely. I just wanna hear from those that have actually gotten to goal slowly and how long did it take you? i know that everyone is different but am curious about low bmi'ers..... thanks!
  2. You will do just great! I went in February and did have my husband but lots of ppl were alone... Everything is taken care of for you from the minute you get off the plane.
  3. Good luck. I'm trying my best myself to cut carbs as much as I can. They definitely slow the weight loss.
  4. Btw, I saw on your profile.. Your surgery date is the same as mine!! Cool!
  5. Also you said that u didn't eat great and didn't exercise? Did you eat a lot of carbs?
  6. I usually lose about a quarter lb a week and drop two lbs after my period. How much did you lose on average a week/month?
  7. Vixynne, my starting weight was 183-BMI of 32. I am currently at 155 and my goal is 125. My surgeon's goal for me was 136 but I've been lower than that just 7 years ago. Mommy794, did you lose really slow and how long in did you stop losing?
  8. Sleeved on Feb 6th. Down 13 lbs! Haven't lost in a couple days so now I'm starting to worry... LOL.... It's weird to see myself typing the same stuff that I have seen other ppl say on here. I would think, Good grief, isn't 13 enough but then when it happens to you, it's like, WTH is wrong?! I feel amazingly good! No problems at all, no pain, nausea, gas, anything. But, I am hungry. I want real food so bad. I am not allowed to eat any soft foods until 22 days post op. I really want food but I'm also worried that it will slow my weight loss when I start. Can't wait to get to goal!!!
  9. Was there 10 days ago and my hubby just had his birth certificate and driver's license. They only looked at his driver's license. There is NO PROBLEM!!!!! Do NOT worry about it!

    Light Lifting

I am five days out and have a 20 lb baby. I am very worried about lifting him but I don't have any choice. I am scared that I am going to cause myself complications. It is frustrating to say the least. I wasn't told that I couldn't lift anything over ten lbs prior to surgery, found out two days before. Btw... I was told 10 lbs for two weeks and then ease in slowly. Ugh. so far no problem....
  11. Looking forward to hearing your updates, Mary. I leave in three days!! Shelly, I hope to see you there!! =)
  12. So Mary, did they make you get that stuff done and what did they charge? Also, I'm so glad that you are doing so well. I keep trying to email you back but my phone keeps sending it back.... GRRRR
  13. MARY, DO YOU NEED THE NUMBER? PAPERWORK SAYS TO CALL 866-376-7849 XT 90 IF WAITING FOR PICK UP..... DID YOU FIND HIM YET?
  14. Hello! I am getting really excited about my upcoming surgery... I'm past the nerves and now just ready to go! I'm scheduled for Feb. 6th with Ortiz. I am low BMI so not much of a pre-op diet which I am really relieved about because my baby and I have been sick. I've been following the forums for a long time but just recently started posting and making a few friends. I hope that everyone is doing well!!

    Breastfeeding mommas!?

I'm so excited to read this. I am currently trying to wean my baby before my surgery that is scheduled for Feb 6th. I am torn between just wanting to continue to nurse him in the evenings at bedtime. How did you nurse him postoperatively with being in the hospital and drains, etc?
  16. Hi there, I, too, am a newbie on this site... well not a newbie to the site but a newbie to posting. I have been interested in having the sleeve done for about 2 years. I wanted to have another baby before I did it (which I did). I have been "lurking" for about 6 months or so reading everything from how to finance to who the poster's doctor of choice, etc. I have decided to go with Dr. Ortiz in TJ as I am self pay. I am low BMI and my insurance obviously will not cover it. I got a loan from my credit union for it and the interest rate is only 3%!!! If you go thru the financing companies that they have you will pay quite a bit more in interest so IMO, not a good idea. I have several friends that went with Dr. Alvarez and they are doing FABULOUS!!! no problems whatsoever!! I chose Ortiz because my physician told me that he has patients that had their surgeries with him and they have had no problems either. I hope some of my post has helped in some way. I am excited about making some friends on here. =)
