  1. STEAK?!?!?!? OMG I can not wait for STEAK!!! How far out are you?!?!
  2. The first two weeks are the worst. I think it is because we CAN'T eat. We feel deprived. But I am in my third week and eating almost everything I want and I am satisfied with that. I promise it gets easier once you can eat REAL food. BTW my scale hasn't moved in two weeks. I'm just waiting for the BIG LOSS....It's coming soon I HOPE!!!
  3. I am three weeks out. I push the doctor a little and started trying soft foods a little early. I could handle them so they said it was okay. I am a little ahead schedule but I just make sure I chew everything REALLY well. I figured what's the difference if I chew it up to mushy or if I blend it up to mushy...it's still mushy And I don't stuff myself. Just eat until I feel that FULL feeling.
  4. My friend was sleeved a few months before me. She ordered the sushi roll without the rice and it was sooooo good!!! I think it was actually better...they filled it with crab, avacado and cucumbers...YUMMMY!!! I am three weeks out and I CAN NOT wait until I can have sushi!!!!!
  5. I don't know if it is just me but I can eat anything...so far. I am eating like a normal person and I feel so good. I went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant yesterday and had a shredded chicken taco with cheese and sour cream. I didn't eat the tortilla but OMG it was soooo good. And I feel normal. I just eat a little bit and I'm good. I had egg foo young and that was delicious. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!!!! The first three weeks were HELL....but I think I'm getting it. Of course I'm at a stall but at least I can eat LOL!!!! I think I understand. Example: They ordered tacos (yes I eat lots of tacos) at work. Normally I would order two and be hungry. Now I order one egg taco and I know that will be enough to fill me up. I always ordered lots of food because I wanted to be full, then would keep eating after I was full and overeat. Now my sleeve helps me so I only order one taco and eat the inside and I am stuffed and happy and content. This sleeve is going to help me so much stick to my diet. I just wish the scale would start moving LOL.... I hope the restriction lasts forever Also I hope this made sense....LOL
  6. I was sleeved Aug 24th. Started at 346 lbs...preop diet brought me down to 331 lbs day of surgery. Middle of week two I was down to 317 lbs. Today I am 320 lbs. Isn't that lovely? And that's where I've been all week. I knew this would happen. I just didn't think it would happen so fast. I will just keep on keeping on and pray that the scale starts to move. I am eating anywhere from 400 - 600 calories a day. It is just funny to me how I KNOW I'm stalling because of my body and I know there's nothing I'm doing wrong but those thoughts rush in my head "All this I've just gone through and NO LOSS" or "Maybe I'm the one person who the sleeve will fail" LOL.... And I just love the "how much have you lost?" every five minutes question from people at work. And when I say nothing this week I get the SHOCKED look LOL. Well WISH ME LUCK!!!! and I'd love to hear your experiences with the "STALL"
  7. Uh oh...I didn't know that...darn...I can NOT drink protien shakes. They are sooo sweet I'm gonna try my last one Premier and see if I can handle those...If not I don't know what I'm gonna do LOL
  8. Do you ever if at all get back that full feeling without pain or is pain always going to be associated with it? For example....I don't feel full when I have my four spoons of food like I would feel full before surgery. I only know I'm full when I get the pain in my chest. Will that ever go away? Or will I forever feel pain when/if I over eat? Just curious.....thanks
  9. I honestly think it is head hunger. For example. at work I feel like I have to get lunch so I have been buying me soup or mashed potatoes and getting sick because I'm trying to eat more than four spoons. Now I'm just not eating lunch. It doesn't seem worth it to make myself sick. The soup is not giving me any nutrients nor are the potatoes. So I'm just drinking to get my fluids in and taking my protien shot WHICH I HATE!!! Maybe I'll try a shake later for protien. I'm not forcing anything anymore....BLAH
  10. ...before you learned how to eat? I have done it twice already. I eat TOO fast and it is so hard for me to stop...LOL I am usually starving by the time I eat so I want to scarf down my food but then get the "BUBBLE" in my chest and feel like I'm gonna die. FOUR SPOONFULS is all I can get. This is WAY harder than I expected. I'm NOT complaining just wanting to vent. And I know it will get better. I didn't think it would be like this LOL. I used to say "I eat when I'm full...that's how I got this big" my friend (who had the surgery) would say you will NOT be able to after your surgery. I didn't believe her....but OMG I DO NOW!!!!
  11. I'm in San Antonio too... I was sleeved Aug 24th.....I've been going through the "what have I done" all week. Especially going out and seeing what people are eating at my son's football game and at dinner after church. I think we will feel better when we get to the stage where we can eat regular food. Right now I feel like I am missing all the good things but what keeps me going is knowing just a few more weeks and I'll be able to eat those things too. Maybe not as much as I used to but none should eat as much as i used to. You'll get through this....we both will. I promise message me anytime
  12. I haven't really weighed myself until yesterday....I was down 5 lbs...The surgery was quick...before I knew it I was out. They had to repair a hernia they found. I don't know if that is why I was feeling horrible the first day...but I had that what did I do feeling. By the next day I was off Morphine and feeling better. By the third day I was feeling ALOT better. Today I am five days out and feel great. I've been walking and the only problem is I want real food. But I count my days to the day I can have it....there is a little food remorse because I won't be able to hit the buffet like before but honestly no one should hit the buffet like I used to!!! It is definitely a life style change and I'm only one week into it!!!
  13. I will start my week 2 diet...any ideas...on my first week I have only had protien shakes, chicken broth, crystal light and popcicles....I'm always afraid of eating something wrong to find out later I could have had something better!!!! I would love any ideas/recipes!!! I was sleeved on August 24th
  14. I am in my first week and finding my head hunger is way worse than my physical hunger. I just want food I can chew...my menu consists of protein shakes, crystal light, chicken broth and popsicles. I am looking forward to creamed/pureed soups and I can not wait for my third week...I have been craving cheese!!!! I feel good other than my food cravings,!!! I know it is not forever I just wish it would hurry up
