  1. I had my Sleeve done four years ago. I still get sick if I eat too fast or something not good for me. I don't usually throw up any food mostly the slime or more like releasing a large burp but it is not a burp, my stomach clinches like I am Throwing up. (I know TMI) I know the obvious answer would be to just eat slower and better selections. I guess I am wondering if this is normal so far out of surgery. This does not happen all the time, sometimes I go a month or so without getting sick and then like now it is an everyday occurrence. I had a scope a few months ago to see if there was a blockage that is causing this but they said it was all clear. Please any advise would help, or is this just normal? I have lost 130 lbs from my surgery weight. Thanks David

    Still Sick

Thanks for your comments, I have felt the same way that I am glad my sleeve is still working. I guess I was wondering if most people have this problem or if the symptoms reduce over time. My sister had the sleeve and has never been sick but I guess everyone is different. Honestly, I may not have lost as much weight if I was not getting the slimes.

    Stalled for two years

Thanks for all your kind words it means a lot to me. I did do the Atkins diet years ago and it was not that bad, I think I will try jump starting with that and see how it goes.
  4. My first year I lost 130 lbs and then just stopped losing. At first I was weight lifting and after a while it was just not doing any good so I lost interest in it and now I just try and walk. Because I have not lost in a while but maybe gained a little everyone is disappointed in me and says the surgery was a waste. I don't know exactly how much I have gained but at my lowest I wore 36 pants and now I'm in size 38. Which I started in a size 46-48. I think everyone expects me to be thin all the time. If I'm not losing I failed, and that is what I feel like is a failure. At first sugar made me sick but now I can eat sugar which isn't good, I need to cut it out. New Years Resolution possibly? My Vitamin D is low and I have heard that can effect weight loss, is that true? There are times I try and lose and nothing comes off. When I eat too much or to fast I still get sick so I know the sleeve still works, it just has seemed to stall. What do I do? I feel like I have let everyone down.
  5. I was able to do the pre op diet because I had the surgery as a goal to get to. Like everyone I would have just gained the weight back and eventually just started eating big meals again.
  6. Since my surgery 1 1/2 years ago I have been avoiding buffets for obvious reasons, not worth the amount of food for price. Last night we went to Golden Coral and discovered they have a pay by weight option. They give you a to go box and you get what you want and just weigh it. My meal cost about 6 dollars and my wife's was 16 dollars. I got enough to bring home some for later and they have a great variety. You can get anything that will fit in your diet and ignore all the fried foods that wreck a havoc on the sleeve. Anyone else do this?

    Buffet By The Weight.

I went there and they would not give me the kids price either. But they suggested the wright option. I have done this twice the first time my meal was only three dollars but I did not know about the to go carton. I filled it up more the second time cause I knew I could take it home for another meal.
  8. I am 1 1/2 years out and it has only been a few months that the regular sickness is going away. But I still get sick once a week or every two weeks. I needed to identify what was making me sick, at first it was eggs and cheeses. I can eat them now in little doses. Breads seem to plug me up and I get sick fast, so I have learned to not eat the bread or have one small nibble. I also will eat flat tortillas, not pita bread. Eating too fast has been my problem also, I can't eat at the table I have to eat in front of TV to distract me from my small plate. Also make sure to not drink with meals, that seems to get me sick pretty quick.
  9. I had same problem, I finally had my gallbladder out and I am just getting to feeling right. I was sleeved in July and GB out in December. I still get sick if I eat too fast.

I wish I could eat cheese but it seems to make me sick. Eggs also make me sick, two of my favorite things.

Who Was Sleeve On July 16 2012

I was sleeved on July 23rd. I just got to 100 lbs lost. It has been hard, I get sick weekly. I can't eat eggs or cheese but I do drink milk. I mostly eat real small portions of chicken or beef. Chicken makes me more sick than beef though.

    Still Very Nauseated

I am three months pst op and nauseated. I had an endoscope and had sores in esophogus. I am now on Prilosec it has helped and cleared up the sores. I have discovered through time that eggs and cheese make me sick so I avoid them and I feel better. Skim milk soothes my stomach, I put in those little strawberry milk shots and they go down just fine. I have always eaten fast and I still struggle with it. If I eat to fast I get real sick.
