  1. Good luck to all of you! I was sleeved on August 22nd. The emotional part I have found much be quite normal. I cried one minute and laughed the next. Never could decide if I was making the right decision. The soreness is the worst part. I can't say that I was in pain. You must walk walk walk! I promise it makes the soreness go away more quickly. Good luck to all of you. I hope I can answer some questions for each of you since I have already had the procedure.
  2. Add me as well. It's much easier to have someone to talk to that's been thru or going thru the same things. Brittney Thomas in Pontotoc, MS
  3. I was a cash paying patient as well. I didn't have to go thru many hoops at all. Surgery here is $12,900. I had to get a psych eval and a letter from my family physician. Other than that, I didn't have to do anything. No mandatory seminars either.
  4. I had to be on a clear liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. I cheated 3 times the first week. I realized I couldn't eat much, and when I cheated, I got sick. I had surgery Wednesday August 22nd. I lost 17 lbs on the pre-op. Hang in there. It will be worth it.
