  1. It's all good...heck, I still can't figure out how to post a new topic!!! LOL Anyway...one of the things I found helped me was to drink something warm...decaf tea, broth... since it takes time to consume a hot beverage, it seems to help. Try to keep busy...even doing some kind of game on computer or phone etc... can help make the time pass... good luck and welcome
  2. did you have a problem with the stairs prior to surgery? you should call your doctor about your concerns tho. We have stairs in our new place...I would NEVER have been able to go up there prior to surgery...because of my RA, it's still a bit of a challenge, but it gets better all the time! Patience is the key word ... take care
  3. It'll be fine...what you are feeling is normal... let us know how you feel AFTER
  4. I agree with Linda... fortunately my husband gives me signs of support all the time...heck we got married when I weighed 350 (well by that time 300)... but you are definately playing a mind game with yourself and you need someone to talk to...as well as sharing your thoughts with your husband... we have all gone thru stages where we feel "gross"...even those Victoria Secret models, if you want to believe it ... but you are headed to a new place and you need to be able to accept the new you as well as the old one. Take care...
  5. That's my birthday!!! LOL...and now your new "birth date" ... congrats!!! Don't stress... it will all be ok
  6. sounds like you need to up your protein if you are looking to eat... you are not satisfied with your meal...at this stage you need to concentrate on your protein and your liquid...with all that working out; it seems, to me, that you are not eating enough... try more protein or adding a protein shake in your day... good luck...you are doing really well
  7. Wow...I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...I get heartburn on rare occasions, probably from what or how I ate...but again, we are all different on our reactions to things
  8. Wonderful insights, ladies...thank you... bottom line... we are all different and we have to find what works for us ... but we still have to "work" Thanks, enjoyed the info!
  9. Mine should be here by friday...WOO HOO...free to me!!! It's all good, we will see how "magical" it is shortly and I'll report back to y'all
  10. Head Hunger isn't pain...it's when you think you are hungry...it's all in your "head"... I found a cup of something hot (decaf tea/broth) would help a lot... but overall you seem to be in the right place in your head Absolutely let them know about your anxiety...they can give you something to help with that. I am not a needle person either, I have fainted when they tried to draw blood because I have little, rolling veins... so I get nervous about it everytime and feel like I'm going to pass out....so you are not alone!
  11. Nancy, just be sure you get a FULL refund...contact Amazon if you don't; they will get it straightened out for you!
  12. I received 3 cans (my order was for 3 sets of 24 cans) and they told me that was a "gift" and they refunded my money for the full order, including shipping!
  13. We have a place here in town that has Protein shakes-they let you taste test. So I am hitting there this weekend Nell, where is that? Maybe we have one of those stores here... I'd love to try others... thanks! And let us know what your experience is!
  14. yes, I got my Protein and some scar cream free (didn't qualify for vitamins) from insurenutrition.com... but your doctor has to approve it; so that may be a problem...after the surgery is done, I would definately look elsewhere for your Vitamins and protein if you can't get it free from Insure Nutrition... there is NO need to use theirs ... sounds like they are trying to earn a buck... it's fine to SUGGEST the product they have; another thing, entirely to PUSH that product on to a client!!! Good luck...
  15. Yes, I think EVERYONE needs B12, especially after the surgery...and I take Biotin to help with my nails and hair...but it's part of the process... your body is still healing. The fatigue thing tho should have passed by now, so I agree with Michele, that probably needs to be checked to see if you need additional supplements or something to help. I find that now that I am walking more, I am less tired/fatigued. You are doing well... it won't be long before everything straightens itself out; but always check with your doctor with concerns; especially when they have been going on for so long! Be well.
  16. Congrats on setting your dates, ladies... I have never regretted my decision for a moment. The folks at the hospital were excellent...well, it is a Bariatric Place of Excellence ... but even with the few minor problems I had ...I wouldn't change a thing... I am so much more healthier and feel so much better about myself and life in general! As commented before, I have RA so now I can walk (except long distances) without a cane or walker...and that, my friends, is the most exciting thing for me! We have a vacation coming up in March and I am over the moon that I will be able to walk around and enjoy it without having to sit every 5 minutes to rest! Take care... keep us informed!
  17. I hear ya! Last week the Valentine Sweet table was right behind my cubicle... tho the meer sight of it made me sick to my stomach! You should be prepared with your own "snacks" when you go to a meeting so you can handle it better... Good luck...be strong! You can do it!
  18. YES!!! I just got the call from Insure Nutrition...they work with your doctor and your insurance, and I got approved for the Protein and scar cream...I didn't get approved for Vitamins .... but HEY, I got the other...FREE!!!! APPLY NOW!!! (and I'm a year out btw)
  19. funny, I was watching Rachael Ray yesterday and they made a soup that they used an immersion blender to chop up/puree the vegetables into the soup so it was liquid...therefore the kids don't know they are eating vegetables! You can try that...
  20. "Keep Calm...Dumping Happens"... new slogan? probably not... I had it because I ate too fast or too much on occasion...but fortunately, that has passed.... I always kept a cup (like a McDonalds cup-dare I say that word) in my car and at work...just in case!!! Since it comes up so quickly
  21. Congrats...It's fabulous, isn't it... I couldn't believe when I hit the 100 lbs down!!!!
  22. absolutely CALL YOUR DOCTOR!! You may be getting de-hydrated, and that's never good! Take care and let us know what happens...
  23. I JUST GOT THE CALL...I WAS APPROVED!!! I should have my Protein powder and scar cream by Friday...Monday the latest WOO HOO!!! ....and my surgery was about a year ago! So that's not an issue
  24. It takes a lot to "stretch" your pouch permanently...don't be concerned about that. I'm sure you are making healthy choices...eat what you think you should until you are satisfied and ENJOY your vacation...as we know, it's not about the food! With all the walking you are doing, I'm sure you will balance out just fine... don't worry so much, just enjoy your time...everything will take care of itself, eventually!
  25. You have to work for the company for a minimum of one year to use FMLA...so if this is a new job, that won't help you... but ask about options!
