  1. Sleeved 9/4 and down 33 lbs. Feeling great, eating right, working out and no longer smoking. So happy I made the decision.
  2. What an awesome way to celebrate your bday beginning a journey of a healthier you. Hope to be able to connect at Forest Park.
  3. I have to be at Forest Park by 6:30 am for prep on 9/4. I'm really nervous, excited and scared all at the same time. They did not give me a specific surgery time but based on the time it took for my EGD last week it will probably be a couple hours or so after the time I'm supposed to be there. I hope it's not a long time after my prep the waiting is awful and creates a lot of anxiety for me. I wish all of us the best for surgery and much success on this new journey in our lives.
  4. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus (the tube that connects your throat to your stomach), stomach, and first part of the small intestine. It is done with a small camera (flexible endoscope) that is inserted down the throat.

It is done with a small camera (flexible endoscope) that is inserted down the throat. Goggled to get the official definition above.
  6. Dr Kim is the one who will do my surgery on 9/4 and his associate Dr Holden will do my EGD on this coming Thursday. So glad you had a great experience. Who is your Dr?
  7. My EGD IS 8/30. It is supposed to check my stomach. I have to call them tommorow to see what time I'm supposed to be at Forest Park.
  8. Don't feel guilty it's really hard. I also am with Dr Kim and I cheated yesterday and don't feel guilty. Honestly it helped me. Have you had your EGD yet?
  9. I'm on my 6th today with 4 protein shakes a day. It's very hard. But I'm reading a great book, The Emotional First Aid Kit: A practical guide to life after bariatric surgery, by Cynthia Alexander. The book is really awesome in that it focuses on the main weapon in your arsenal for weight loss - Your Mind. It was recommended by my Psychologist and has really been a great help in helping me shift to the most significant part of all of this, permenant lifestyle changes. My surgery is on Sept 4th and I want to be prepared mind, body and soul.
