  1. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus (the tube that connects your throat to your stomach), stomach, and first part of the small intestine. It is done with a small camera (flexible endoscope) that is inserted down the throat.

  3. Dr Kim is the one who will do my surgery on 9/4 and his associate Dr Holden will do my EGD on this coming Thursday. So glad you had a great experience. Who is your Dr?
  4. My EGD IS 8/30. It is supposed to check my stomach. I have to call them tommorow to see what time I'm supposed to be at Forest Park.
  5. Don't feel guilty it's really hard. I also am with Dr Kim and I cheated yesterday and don't feel guilty. Honestly it helped me. Have you had your EGD yet?
  6. I'm on my 6th today with 4 protein shakes a day. It's very hard. But I'm reading a great book, The Emotional First Aid Kit: A practical guide to life after bariatric surgery, by Cynthia Alexander. The book is really awesome in that it focuses on the main weapon in your arsenal for weight loss - Your Mind. It was recommended by my Psychologist and has really been a great help in helping me shift to the most significant part of all of this, permenant lifestyle changes. My surgery is on Sept 4th and I want to be prepared mind, body and soul.
