  1. You are very welcome! I hope you'll keep following me on my journey. And I hope it's helped in some way.
  2. Thankfully I don't mind the vanilla ice-cream whey from Costco. 35 grams of protein in one cup. I mixed with soy milk which also adds protein. Also pureed roast beef with a few cooked carrots, added broth to thin it and the beef gives more protein to your day. Www.fatchickgonewild.blogspot.ca for my sleeve journey....I'm 12 days out.
  3. From Saskatoon as well. Was sleeved 12 days ago in Puerto Vallarta by Dr. Castaneda. Best choice I've ever made for myself and my family!
  4. I have a 3 month old baby girl and had the surgery done 12 days ago. Today was my first day alone with her and it went well. Hard to bend too much but holding her carefully and while sitting has been fine. I did this for our future. I want to be an active, healthy mom so when she's young was the best option for me...for her...for our family. You can visit my sleeve blog at www.fatchickgonewild.blogspot.ca
  5. Joisey01 is absolutely right! Every journey is different and yours just needs to take a small turn before heading in the right direction. Embrace it and keep strong!!
  6. Left side drain definitely gave me issues. The stitch was loose so it moved in and out when I breathed or moved around. Once the drain was out, it felt amazing. Also taking the most time to heal but once your stitches are out, you'll feel even better. Hang in there!
  7. If you haven't decided, I 100% say go with Dr. Castaneda!!! Read my blog for my story. I was just sleeved by him on the 19th of September. fatchickgonewild.blogspot.ca
  8. I had the same exact thing happen with the same exact stitch! Weird!! I used a needle, hooked it and pulled it out. Didn't feel a thing. Feels better now that its out.
  9. Hooray for all of us! Getting stitches out this morning, eating is going well and lost 16 pounds since pre-op.
  10. I go home tuesday so one week total in Puerto Vallarta. Feeling so awesome, I'm 4 days post surgery. Every say just gets easier and easier. You can follow my blog at fatchickgonewild.blogspot.com. I've been tracking my journey thus far.
  11. Drains come out monday morning. Can't wait!! Got out of the hospital yesterday and I must say I miss the comfort of the hospital bed to sleep. Would be better if there were no drains.
  12. Surgery went well. Have my leak tests today and if all is well, I can start the liquid diet. Some tummy pain but nothing major.
  13. Waiting for surgery as I write this. Staying in a rented condo with a group of women who all came at the same time. I'm from Saskatoon, SK, Canada. Wish me luck!
  14. I leave in 2 days for the same place, same doctor. Know quite a few people now who have been to the same place and have all good things to say. Glad your sleeve went well. Wish me the same luck. Surgery is Sept. 19/12.
  15. I know exactly how you feel! I looked into having Lapband done but something didn't feel right about it. I researched the difference between the band and sleeve and realized the sleeve was the best alternative for me. I've been overweight half my life and have a 10 week old to live for. On September 18 I fly to Mexico for my surgery. It feels right! I am so excited!! Good luck to you!
  16. Congratulations! You look amazing!! Can't wait to get sleeved. Less than a month to go.
