  1. A couple childrens chewables and a calcium supplement is what i need. but this sample pack has all kinds of stuff beyond that...i guess those are optional?
  2. i did sort them into what was on the package, the NUT gave me a run down on the basics, but not which of this brand i should take.
  3. what all of these vitamins do i need??? they sent me a sample pack and it has like a zillion vitamins and all different varieties...so confused
  4. i did fairly well with the wiping part. after a couple days i was able to go about business as usual. and thank all that is holy, i didnt start til 7 days after my surgery! even though i was set to start literaly ont he day of surgery
  5. when it starts to hurt, i drink some water and put on a support cami. it seriously helps
  6. have you tried a support type cami? i had one on for a few days and it seemed to make all the difference in the world
  7. so...im 7 days out. feeling wonderful- the first day when i came out of surgery, i started to think "wtf have i done" cuz it hurt lol. but a couple days later, i was good to go. learning a lot about techniques to help with any pains i have, learning a lot about others too. went to the store, avoided the no-no stuff (cookie and chip aisle) but did happen to look down it from the main aisle...what i noticed was a VERY distinct difference between the kinds of people on each kind of aisle, something i never noticed before. i dont judge, but i found myself looking at those in the healthier aisle and going "i am working towards THAT kind of body". and im having cravings for weird vegetables ive never really wanted before... did they remove part of my brain as well??? lol got my first round of pics done since the day of surgery and i am simply shocked. shocked is the only word I have for this feeling I am posting them in my album on my profile
  8. i wear a Sweet Nothings cami support thing from Walmart. works pretty good. esp helps keep everything still and gives the biggest incision the support it needs to not hurt at all
  9. i wear two sports bras...and a cami type shaper to support my surgical site (just had surgery on mnday)
  10. hmmm ok. i can deal for a few more days. It was just odd to me that only one incision hurts lol. One of the incisions is RIGHT where the front of my bra sits, so I am in my jammies for a few days
  11. holy mother of god. why is it that only ONE incision is killing me? its just the largest one. im day three, just came home and im wishing i could make it stop already. how long did the big incision hurt???
  12. How many ladies here are in their mid 20s, and are around 230/220 and have lost a bit of weight? i am wondering how likely it is that i will have skin hanging everywhere lol...
  13. are you keeping busy? are you working out at all? if you are bored, you will feel hungry when you reay arent. i have been doing the "pre-op" diet for almost a month now, so my body has adjusted. your bdy may still be in shock and just want food but not need it. give it some time. my surgeon said that the adjustment can and probably will take 3 months. the energy level, the pain and whatnot, and the diet changes may need 3 months to level off.
  14. So, 3 years ago I started the process to get the WLS. It was a 6 month process at Fort Sam- sleep studies, nutrition, psych, drs, etc. I got 5.5 months into the process and found out we were expecting O.o horrible. fast forward to July 19, 2012. I started the process here in El Paso. thought i would have another 6 month process- NOT, they like to get things done around here! I had my initial appt, nutrition appt, lab work and support group in the same day. Psych appt within a week and final preop surgeon appt 2 weeks later! they scheduled my surgery for 5 days and a wake up later. I have been thinking about this for 3 years and it was nice to get through the pre op stuff quickly when i have waited this long. I think it REALLY set in that i HAD to do something when i was at the psych office (they specialize in bariatric patients) and i saw on my chart "morbid obesity" in big bold lettering. it REALLY hurt and scared me. REALLY. "morbid", such a strong and negative word. but it was the push i needed. i began my preop diet on my own july 19th. i wanted to get a feel for all of this- shakes, Water and one well balanced low carb meal (no more white carbs, no pastas, no rice etc) a day. working out and busting my butt at work. its been an eye opener. i have realized i have so much more energy eating cleaner, i have more time in the day to do the things i want and need to do- even adding a new job and some extra responsibilities! monday, 4 days and a wake up and i will be starting my new life. i am ready to be back to where i was 7 years ago. our family is complete, my husband has his job and degrees, its MY turn to fix myself and do what i want to do for ME. the boxes and boxes and boxes of smaller clothing in my garage are calling to me
  15. Me and my cups go everywhere together. I am a waitress, and i keep a cup in the kitchen with my shake in it, and another cup with my Water in it. i thought i would hate the shakes, thought i would be starving, but im not. I run and lift and work so hard at...work lol...and then i go to the gym for a little extra abuse lol. everyone knows the blue cup is my shakes and the pink one is my water. i have found i have a TON of energy right now...i have been doing the shakes and only one meal a day for a month now, tried to get it started when i decided to get on the ball with my surgery so that it wouldnt be a shock to the system. have to say, it was a great idea. when the dr told me yesterday that i was to do 4 small shakes and only one meal i day, i was able to say "ok" and know it wouldnt be a big deal so work for 4+ hours a day as a waitress, 1+ hours at the gym daily, and my shakes and a meal is working out pretty good for me. then i go home and do yard work, house work and deal with my kids (4year old and 20 month old) lol
  16. at least they wont make me reschedule lol. mine has been whacky lately and varies by about a week, so i am scheduled for surgery on the 20 and i start anywhere from the 15th to the 25th O.o i HATE not being on a schedule with it, but maybe it will even back out when the weight is gone- when i was in my teens before i gained weight, it was the 15th like clockwork
